Hi Kyle

My liking for Maserati started in the mid 90s when I used to chat to a trader at work about his Biturbo. I think it was a Shamal but can't remember exactly, but it was beautiful from the photo he showed me and then I saw it once when he drove in - I remember thinking the sound was intoxicating. All the other traders had the-then stock BMWs and Porsches - the Maserati was sooooo exotic in comparison!

I've been an Alfa man for 12 years now (seems a daily well trodden route to Maserati ownership), and always longed for a 3200, but never been in a position to get one. When I eventually started to look into getting one I realised I wasn't quite brave enough so decided to wait for a perfect facelift 4200 to come along. Best thing I ever did car wise. Although have to admit I'd still like to scratch the 3200 itch..maybe just a drive one day will do.

Never paid for a service on the 456 as I only owned it for 7 months but it had some whopping bills for a car that had only done 30,000. Truth of the matter to dear for me to own but glad I had the V12 experience and it got me the Guinness world record experience. Service for the 360 reasonable although certain parts expensive.

Hi Kyle
remember when I was at senior school in the 70's a friend of mine's dad serviced cars and he had a Maserati Bora and Lamborghini Espada and we used to go in them and it was just the sound and the look of them.
I have been lucky enough to drive some nice cars from a Mini to a RS2000 to a 67 Mustang that I nearly purchased. Loved the look of the 3200 and last year i was able to get the 4200 and just love it, its the fun and the smile it puts on your face every time you turn the key.

Ian - I'm keen to meet up when the weather improves, not holding my breath though... we can start a new thread on the Events-Maserati section!

Kyle, I come over quick often as my wife is from Carrick. Will let you know when that will happen next, most likely around May when the weather gets better.

I came to Maserati from many other cars mainly Porsches and M Cars. I wanted one for ages and had a 3200 as my screensaver at work (that silver press launch photo of the boomerangs) for ages but had to get over the reputation for running costs. When i was little i saw a Merak SS at a showroom in Edgeware Rd, London so i guess it began there looking back. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Mine started from having a Bora as a Matchbox car as a nipper...then a review by Jeremy Clarkson on a Maserati BiTurbo Spyder when it was a proper review rather than an ego trip on TG...then a green 3200 in Cheam Village that was in front of me at the lights....hmmmmm
