Yes it does Loz, but that's no bad thing. Old school is good.
If we had more like you we wouldn't be where we are now.
Have been listening to Ed Balls and what a lot of 'his surname' he speaks ...even now he wants to borrow more!
It's like banging your head on a wall, hurts like **** so you do it again!

Sorry but I have to talk about politics.
I now do not watch televison (other than the occasional 10 o'clock news), read no newspapers and only have the radio on because my wife's likes to have some background sound - apparently I'm not enough for her!
We know we have to take the medicine for Darling Brown Balls' ineptitude of the past years so why oh why can't they just be grown-up about it. A cut in University fees is such a sop, I can't believe they have even had the temerity to suggest it!
Hope the Govt can do what Maggie did and kill of the Unions!

Elliot, those numbers don't add up?

Deposit of £61,281.75 + final payment of £52,103.25 = £113,385.
Where are they getting a further £54,503.25 of credit?

Are they trying to say total charge for credit allowing for 24x £100 monthly payments? which should read 'total payable' as charge for credit is 0% APR

Those are the figures, Miles. As I said, from a main dealer. They have similar deals for all of the range. I'm not going to reproduce the e-mail on here, to save the dealer's blushes. It looks like just a way to split the purchase price in two, with a two year "rest period" in between.

I bet the dealer does a different deal with maserati UK i.e. takes your 60k deposit and uses 10k for his deposit and invests the other £50k, ten cars and he has a lot of liquid cash available....just a thought

Ah yes, that explains it. Thanks Andrea.

Sorry Elliot, got confused by the terminology.

Any fancy apr like that will probably just come of the dealer's front end margin so less to play with.

Surely Miles that means the car has cost you £32K for 3 years , i cant justify that, when you dont have a car or a brass cent to show for it , it dont compute in my little brain , there play toys for chrisakes , never lost that kind of money on some of the boats ive had,

regards loz

I cannot stomach buying any new car, apart from our little shopping rocket. Luckily someone can stomach these real depreciation figures of more than £30,000, or I would only have a Fiat Punto!

Many people buying prestige cars brand new often have a business decision to make, where investing 80k in their business activities will make money, but the same money into a new GTS WILL lose half of it over 3 years. Add in the fact that repayments can be written off and it is cost effective. Makes a nioce supply of second hand cars for enthusiasts like us!
Doubtless there are cash buyers, and people buyin purely using personal finance, but is thsi a "logical decision"?

In the new Autocar they point out the first years depreciation on an Aston Virage is, wait for it........... £50,000. Ouch!

Added to deal based on a base model perhaps, the up sell on 'extra's' you could end up needing finance on those alone! And do many people have that deposit to stomach the depreciation, odds on they'd take a lesser deposit, small APR for the middle bit. Finance companies link deals to manufacturers and groups....

A matter of finding the deal that suits the pocket i guess..
