Adam, as a guy who apparently has style, I'd say it was much cooler to simply drive the standard unmodified version if a corsa's what floats yer boat. A smart car's cooler than that. One of the young lads at our rugby club just bought a £40 fso and managed to pull a right hottie! Just showed that he wasn't arsed instead of trying too hard and look like a tool. No point modifying anything, just save up for a better car.

Hi Adam, if that's what floats your boat for your first wheels then buy it. It's your money after all and if it makes you smile to drive around in it, then go for it. My first car was a shite Talbot Chrysler Horizon. The good stuff comes later.

i dont want anything that has been modded to that degree, the only things i may do will be fit a new exhaust and change the wheels for black ones.

I have a yound next door who has a Peaugeot which is tarted up with boy racer bits.....He polishes it and cleans it every other day....Now if I didn't know him I would have though he was a boy racer hooligan, but he is a very nice lad and takes pride in his little car.....The thing is as a 17 year old you have to have the cheapest car with the small engine because of insurance and at that age you want a Ferrari..so what do you do...you try and make you little car individual adding all type of *****......OK not to our taste but if we were 17 again we may just be doing the same....Adam dont' by a Vauxhal as there are better little cars but I wouldn't think any worse of you if you did as you ahve to take what you can and make it your own.

Go retro alot more fun my lad who is now 19 years started with his first car a 1988 Mk1 Golf Cabriolet GTI and that was about 2k insurance and we paid £1250 for it.
He is an apprentice mech and paid the insurance and i paid for the car.
We sold that for a profit and he then wanted a Classic Mini which he thoroughly enjoyed 86 Mini Ritz with wide arches 13 inch superlites looked spot on and even though only 998cc was a hoot to drive and good on fuel although nearly as dear to insure.
Sold that for a profit with people queing up to buy it.
He is now onto RWD and this one is a proper bit of fun for banger money Ford Sierra jelly mould hatch back with a pinto lump in it 2.1 Burton cam and a twin choke webber carb on some wide 13 inch Alley Cat rally alloys with 205 profile tyres.
Looks awseome.
Today every one wants bling and but got no go.
I started driving in the 70's and started Rallying in the late 80's we had a good magazine in the day called Cars and Car Conversions some of the older members may remember it afectionately known as Triple C died off a few years ago by the modern boy racers who just bolt on Chinese made tack.
In my day you woul have the head off on a week end and port and polish it to get some extra.
Any way i ramble but something to think about.
Phil.
30 years on the spanners motor engineer and still loving it.
