X-pipe for MC Stradale

Hi Folks!

Firstly, I just wanted to say hello as this is my first post on this forum! :)

I bought my first Maserati in December last year; a lovely 2011 MC Stradale, and I could not be happier with it, having come from a few 911s in the past plus a 360 Modena previously, the Strad ticks every box those could and then some. I still think the 2 seater is a very confused car in what it wants to be, but it just has 'want it' in bucketloads!

Anyways, I am hoping for some info with regards an X-pipe for my car. I have seen that a few are available from manufacturers such as Capristo, Fabspeed and Larini. Do you know what the implications are with the Maserati Warranty with fitting any of these?

Has anyone fitted an X-pipe only to the standard MC Stradale exhaust and can comment on if it is a worthwhile mod to do?

Look forward to being part of this forum and thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Cheers, Clive.

Have a word with Marios at Autoshield (Manchester). He has had a couple of X-pipes made for the GTS and I'm sure he could get something done for a Strad. Be very sure you want it as it will be very loud.

Yeahhhh, a fellow Stradale owner. Welcome!!!! Can't answer your question but welcome!!!! Any pictures?

Cheers,
Blondie

welcome to the forum Clive its best place for all your questions plus sounds a great car you have.

Hello Clive, welcome. Lovely choice of car. Where in the country are you? As Benny says, have a chat with Marios. He made an x-pipe for my GTS and I love it. Raucous in sport, still very refined in normal mode. You might also talk to Noor at Torenno.com. He's a sponsor on here and has an H-pipe fitted to his Strad. It is, ah... somewhat loud, certainly in Race with the valves wide open.

Recommend you talk to Noor too. There's probably a video if his car at the BIAMF "start your engines" event, it sounded like a very very loud machine gun. He can supply parts as he's a Larini dealer too.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody, and thank you for the quick advice. I shall speak to Noor, I expect that it will be loud, it is such a beautiful noise that I want to hear even more of it, but not if it has a detrimental effect.

I have (hopefully) attached some pics to this if I have correctly fathomed out the way the site works....... soon see IFront three-quarter.jpgRear three-quarter.jpgSide.jpgInterior.jpg guess!!

Nice motor...

I have to say the first time I heard a Stradale I was working in Canary Wharf and the noise that thing made was amazing. The best sounding car I ever heard, maybe it was the acoustics as the sound bounced off the buildings but it stopped everyone walking.

Not sure making the car louder is a wise decision unless you can reverse it or switch the sound off. I know I'm glad to be able to switch the sport exhaust off however to date that's proved near impossible.

Good luck.

Charles

Hi Clive,

Ive done various experiments on the GTS and the Stradale with various different combination of components.

Here is my Stradale with Sports Cats and a H-Pipe https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=664406380274313&set=vb.117603221621301&type=2&theater

I wouldnt drive a standard Stradale :-)

If you are just going for just a centre section then I would recommend the X-Pipe. The Larini items are flow tested for improvements, supplied to enthusiasts across the world and come with a lifetime warranty.

Drop me a line or give me a call if you need any further info.

Regards

Noor

Clive - that is a lovely looking car. The red harnesses on white / black are great.

Be aware that if you spend much time with Noor you may need to recalibrate your ears. :goodnews:

Anybody else find it frustrating that Torenno have no prices on the website? Very unusual in this day and age given the propensity of internet shopping.

Would have to agree..They sound amazing straight out of the box as well...

How quite would the exhaust get when the valve closed? Considering I go to work at 5 -6am in the morning, last thing I wanted is falling out with my neighbours!!

Thanks for the advice Noor! I will be returning from overseas work in a couple of weeks and I shall give you a buzz then. From your experience, how do these modifications stand with the factory Maserati Warranty? I hear different sides to it, and coming from Porsches, where having different revisions of N-rated tyre front to back would void your warranty (!), I would be interested to know.

I'm not sure the Stradale needs more noise....When I drove a standard one it sounded perfect. IT was pretty loud to be honest. The only bit with making these cars too loud it that you loose some of the real noise. I heard a 4200 at Bristol the other week that had all sorts added and it just didn't sound right...but I suppose if done right you can enhance the sound rather than just make it unbearable......

Hi Andy, how quite would you say if you switch off the sport button? I mean would you dare start the car early in the morning and not worry about waking up the neighbours?
