I fear I may be hallucinating as I can't find it, but last summer did someone post about a supplier of the gold plenum paint for a 4200. If so please tell. Many thanks.

Its called crackle or wrinkle paint depending on the brand purchased.

Iirc its classed as silver but still no exact match unless you get somebody to mix it. Changes colour as it ages.

Emblemem cars have a matching service.

It is Riloplast Maserati Beige.

A few people have emailed and been told it’s not available. But might the more folk ask, the more likely they are to make it.

It’s worth trying CJ Powder Coatings in Humberston (near Cleethorpes) as well, they will do practically any RAL or custom colour you want. They did the crinkle paint finish on my Testarossa air box assembly as a perfect match, will also be doing my silver and crinkle red finish plenums too.

I know I’m shooting myself in the foot, but what on earth is a plenum? I don’t think I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing one. I googled it and was none the wiser.

The big gold/beige bit in the middle. Part of the system that takes air into the engine.

I have googled words from discussions on this forum that I had never heard of, it can be a dangerous game …………… and required the deletion of my search history and the washing out of my eyes with bleach o_O

Sportsitalia can now refurbish the plenums in the correct wrinkle finish powder coat.

We have had it mixed, Annie, yours is the first.
I'm sure Roary is happy to be the guinea pig - and always like to set a challenge! Many thanks. PS - I always called the plenum 'the gold coloured thing in the middle' and still haven't got a clue why what it is.

I see from the photo this plenum has the same wear spot, on the front drivers side, I have where it rubs on the under bonnet insulation.
There is a plug holding up the under bonnet insulation corresponding to this spot.
When I replaced the insulation as mine was a bit tatty and I'm fussy, I found the plug wasn't seated properly.
