As per title really. Left for 10 days when I was away on my jollies. Last used Wednesday for a 40 mile run and also went last Monday on a 120 mile run so not sure why there should be an issue
The wipers came on v slowly and I couldn't turn them off! Awaiting maserati assist now..

My guess is the battery has died after going flat , they don't like being left alone, like a sulky italian woman

All sorted. Was simply flat battery. Alternator was fine and battery is in good order. Rac man reckons that one of the systems mustn't have shut down correctly and has drained the battery. The drain test was also fine

All ok this morning, pressed the button with a little trepidation but all A-ok.

I must say the RAC man who attended was excellent, really knew his stuff and explained all the processes he was carrying out. All quite interesting.

Great to hear. I suspect you looking at a new battery as when the cold weather comes it will finish it off.

I said that to him, should I suggest a new battery under warranty.. he said that the test results for the state of the battery were very good and it was absolutely fine. Explained the new type of batteries used in cars with stop/start that are much better at recharging cycles than the old ones were (acid gel layer)

I agree with Matt here. I'd get a new battery under warranty for piece of mind.

I'll mention it, its in next week for the 3 day suspension recall.. if they do a battery test and its ok though I can't imagine they will be keen on replacing it...

So impressed was I with the RAC man I contacted them to tell them of this, got a nice reply from their contact centre..

Hi Paul,

It’s Sarah here from the RAC Web Chat team. You left a lovely message with us recently praising the patrolman who attended you following a recent breakdown.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for letting us know about the great service you have received – your feedback is truly appreciated.

I will certainly forward this on to our Breakdown Customer Care team on your behalf who will feed this back to the patrol and his manager accordingly.

If you have any further queries please don’t hesitate to get back in touch with us via our Web Chat facility where we will be happy to help.

Kind Regards
