Wiper arms

Another one I'm afraid.

Planning to get the pollen filter swapped out. Do the wiper arms *really* need to be replaced each two times, or is the PTFE tape solution I've seen mentioned a functional workaround?

TIA

eh? Not heard of swapping wiper arms on these.. I got my pollen filter directly from Motex in Romford and just took the printout of all the various ones in with me (will try and find the thread). Ended up with CFPCK8036 Cooper ACE/038 £14.98 all in which I thought was excellent value.

The hand book states you should, but unless they are slipping on the splines I think they would be OK, the PTFE sounds like a way of ensuring they are tight after 3-4 removals.

Thanks, both. I'll risk it. Damned good price on that pollen filter.
Anyone want to guess which idiot ordered the OEM pollen instead of the cheaper pattern part? *innocent face*

Ho hum; that's a charcoal charged one, not wanting to rub it in... I always go motor factor if possible....

Anyone know what the Eurospares p/n is for the small blk clip that sits on the wiper arm

What is it actually meant to do? I replaced the wipers with the 'aero' ones that had been recommended on here, for the silly price of £5.49 a pair, if I recall.

Totally stunned that they appear to work really well. Mrs Catman has a pair as well. No clips required.

On OEM arms ,clip prevents the arm from lifting at speed

Here is a shot of the not broken one

Its the 24p one...I have had a few. They stop the blade from shaking as it goes across the screen

That makes sense, anything that stops windscreen chatter is a good thing, although I have never had an issue with my car

If they are only 24p and prone to breakage we should order a dozen. I am happy to have a couple of spares

Adam, I think that is both parts, but could be wrong. So one of each is what your picture shows. Probably ;)
