What’s on the hot plate lids?
You got me. Some modern silicon pad sheet. They’ll work until someone invents a decent cooker/boiler scenario to replace the bleeding aga thing. We have an electric oven and induction hob to make up for its shortfalls.

My Nana had a coal fired Rayburn that did both. Everything was done on that. She was still getting a weekly coal delivery in the mid 80s.

FFS, 33 pages of yacking about a fruit based drink for the ladies; the sooner this lockdown finishes the better. What next, discussions about dishwashers or the merits of various tea towel fabrics?

Well one had contemplated starting a Beer thread, but then we’d be yacking about a flower based drink.

That looks really nice. A very expensive alternative to a bbq i'm guessing.

Finally finished the Gabion fireplace and outdoor kitchen (sink and tap yet to be fitted) and spent another 2 weeks building the decking. Used 11 tonnes of stone, all filled using buckets and a step ladder.. sigh!
electrician still to come and fit lights and sockets but you get the idea..

Looks brilliant, they had some table lamps like your big one at a place we stayed in Carcasonne, they were battery operated. Only seen Chinese knock offs for sale here.

Nice work. You may need to extend the chimney to get a good draw. Had same problem with my wood oven.

Really quite spooky that you should mention that Oneball as I literally ordered 2 of those Edison Fatboy lamps 30 minutes ago!! Seriously!

Haven’t tried it out yet.. current flue is 2 meters. Easy to extend though if need be, cheers

very nice, that must be a fair few bucket loads of stone you were hand balling about, I'm liking the steel covered roof, pleasant change from tiles

Brilliant I couldn’t remember who made them. I was sure I took a photo of the bottom of one one morning at breakfast but couldn’t find it afterwards.

Will order one tonight now too.

I’d say around 600-700 buckets - very glad that’s done! Was too tricky manoeuvring a digger or telehandler around with tonnes of stone near all those windows, on top of that the ground was very wet when I started it.
Thanks re. roof.. garage building to get the same treatment in due course.

I found them on offer at £47 currently for the Petit size. Let me know if you need the details.. they’re £65 from Edison!
