When rummaging through the Whiskey collection I found a few bottles of Port that I had forgotten about, time to enjoy :)

Not a massive port fan I have to say. Just stocked the garage fridge with whites and beers. Turns out we have a brewery in Harlow and they were terribly generous with Christmas extras!

Love Port, vintage port is just pure candy for adults. A good Havana with half a btl of port is bliss.
I shut myself away in the cigar room for an hour and forget about the trivial things :)

This is my Christmas treat as well - a nice Punch Punch and a bucket of port!

Followed by a large scotch :)

I like Port but am the only one in the family that does really... I also don’t really know much about it. Have got this bottle sat in the cupboard, but have no clue if it’s good or not..

Should be lovely. 1983 was declared by most producers so an excellent vintage. Ready for drinking now. You must stand it up 24 hours before opening, then pull the cork and decant slowly in one go until you see the sediment coming, promptly stop pouring. Pour the dregs into the sink.
If you don’t decant vintage port you will have bits everywhere in it.

...and it won't keep when it's been opened....

Thanks both - useful to know, but not sure I can drink a bottle of port in an evening, so it may have to wait until there would be more than me drinking it...

It is definitely possible to consume a btl on your own.. trust me on that.. ;)
I can vouch for this..... had the headache and hangover from **** on Port....many years ago, but luckily I still like it. May open my REME 50 year anniversary Port this year if there enough of us to appreciate it..
