I would have it if I was in the market. Perhaps I try to look at life through rose tinted specs and have, so far, had few problems with my spyder what could possibly go wrong!!?? Sure the bills could be big but so could the bills on my BM. (Labour rates at my local dealer are £125/hour). You pays your money and you take your chance, you might buy one with 30k and end up paying big bills. At least with this one you are financially ahead before you start.

Benny I agree, this is a modern car and as such has been tested to death...the car and the parts on that car.................I think punters are scared of a high miles Maserati because they are not seen as a car that can do high miles without issues but this is a perception from the past and not a modern car.........People are using these cars more and more and with a few QP's for sale with 100k on the clock does it really mean they are no good..?....

Spoke to my Father In Law about this car as he used to work for VOSA ....He was in charge of recalls and as such he has visited most manufacturers and part suppliers...He went to Marenello to Ferrari and Maserati with recalls and said there is no reason why a Maserati or a Ferrari would give trouble free miles with high miles and parts have been tested to perform well into higher miles.....as long as the car has been looked after, serviced when needed and parts changed when needed......

I think as you do not here of many issues with the QP that this car is a far more reliable everyday car than say a 3200 and probably even the 4200....and can take the miles.....80k is nothing miles wise and yes it may be lemon but with a good indpection it could well be a bit of a bargain to..............shame about the clutch though as that is an exspence..............But saying that Robert Aerospace has some great rates for service etc so does it really need to cost a fortune...?

As Maserati fans are we not falling in to the same trap as others by under selling the reliability of these modern Maseratis........

Would love to hear the thoughts of QP owners as they really know how reliable their cars are...

I also agree with Benny. I would prefer to buy a higher mileage car with parts recently replaced than a lower mileage car just before the parts go wrong.

Agreed - but with this car, it seems high mileage AND bits need doing! Mind you, £13k... But then there are 4200s with less miles for less money. Some real bargains about!

If I were looking for a car for myself, I may well be interested in it, however as I'm now a business, I'm only looking to buy stock. I would think that the best way of doing this deal would be to offer him £15k ish and say that it's subject to a ppi at Dick Lovett's and anything required or imminent to be replaced. I think he'd probably run a mile as the dealer will know that there'll be a couple of things required in addition to the clutch and brakes. Worth asking?

No -one means reliability......just simple wear and tear plus odd long term failing.......in themselves can mount up for the unsuspecting........warchest always needs to be on hand regardless!

As a QP owner, & formally a 3200 owner I can say that the QP is in a differnent league in terms of build quality. As a forum we seem to repeatedly be underselling the QP. I use mine as an every day driver, average 21mpg & enjoy the sense of occasion. If a car is not selling, could it not be down to the current economic climate?
As a forum should we not be selling the uniqueness of the brand, & talking up residuals, rather than underselling our pride & joy??

I agree about the QP build quality being a huge leap forward from the 3200. I don't think anyone inparticular is talking the brand down. I think this car is amazing value, but only if it's got a clean bill of health. The QP's are reliable with few problems, but when they do have one, it can be dear. If at £15/16k it can have a full inspection and be sorted then I think it's far better value than one which may have imminent problems which could severly invade the warchest.

As long as people make an informed/researched decision......then thats the main thing.........supercars are never cheap to run or more importantly to rmaintain.

QP = great car !

Andy, have had mine for over 2 1/2 years now...
bought in March 2009 with approx 36,000 miles on the clock,
Ex HR Owen car and I am the second owner,
car is now on 56,000 miles and will be going in for a service end November.
I summary, she is one of the best cars I have owned (and there have been around 34 of those),
Apart from routine servicing (which is not exactly cheap, 1 x £1200, 1 x £900), she has had the following:
Light control unit - diagnose, supply and fit £414
Air con pump - remove, repair front bearing and clutch, replace and re-gas £800
Remove door card, lubricate window runner, £100
There have probably been a few other items...but really wont add up to much more than £500...
Would I recommend a QP to anyone, YES, YES, YES...but do your homework, get it checked independently,
sad to say, but I have seen a few, shall we say 'unloved' examples out there...
