Why I'm Making My Own Brakes

Cobra twin the coach driver gathering kids around the world along with his imaginary QPV and the European road trips.
Well missed :)
Never forget his smoking Alfa Diesel on track :)

Looks like I need to try harder, either that or drink more and let things run its course...... :shy1:

Back to brakes, briefly. The engineering 'allowances' and 'safety' built into most designs are overkill in a monumental way. Even for very spirited driving you are unlikely to get into dangerous territory. The biggest 'killer' in brake performance imho is where a mismatch in brake pad/pressure and heat transfer from the discs overcomes the brake fluid.
Too much heat and you'll boil the stuff. Especially if you don't keep on top of water content.

Ok. Back to slagging folk off which is always fun [emoji4]

It's a shame it went this way as the brake scheme looked like a decent option.

What is this all about? Did I miss something? Has someone been banned? I really don’t understand the most recent dozen or so posts in this thread...

I don’t understand either, but then I didn’t understand the technical stuff in the rest of the thread either so it makes little difference, the brakes did look good though !

What did I miss? All looked harmonious. I missed a day checking in and something hit the fan....

Still is harmonious. Unless I missed something.
Right. I must be losing my mind. Help. One minute I’m reading about someone making their own brakes and then it’s about people kicked off the forum? Mind you I did take a bump to the head the other day....
