Where are ya Drinking Now?

As requested @conaero!!

During Lockdown 1 I got rather bored of spending cash on tinnies and drinking in the house, so decided my own garden pub was the only solution. The idea had been conceived the day my mum passed away while sitting in a pub in Southampton waiting to see Jonathan Pie. My mum loved a tipple and I took her to the pub every Sunday for a roast dinner and sherry!

I formulated a plan in my head and discussed it with a good chippy mate of mine who got to work once I had the groundworks finished. Sourced all of the kit from various pub suppliers who delivered me everything I needed. My thought was 'do
n't finish it and wish you had installed .... or done ......'

Welcome to McDermott's Bar. If (when this lockdown is done) you happen to find yourself in Rustington, feel free to pop in for a pint.

So: I'll be having a few in there tonight. Where are ya drinking now?

Wow, that's brilliant, my mate and I used to go for a boys (read old men) night out every week, then the pubs were closed so we would take it in turns in each others gardens until the weather turned cold so we used the garages, then lockdown so we just dream about it now. But you need a mate to drink with and I have just elected myself as your mate.

That’ll be great. Bet you’re counting down the days until it’s done!
Mines not quite as salubrious as I didn’t want a stand behind bar. Looks cracking tho.

Having a beer, had an interview at 2pm to return to a role in Denmark.
Offered at 3:30...
Decisions to make now, present role finishes June but I’ll be letting a good mate down if I go. But it’s at least a year a nigh on double bubble....

I can understand not wanting to let a mate down but you have to do what’s right for you. A years work at double money doesn’t bash you on the head very often.

I have to agree. If the job's right. And if he's a proper mate, he'll understand.

My interesting day the other day wasn't the Bentley, it was handing in my notice on a job that I've been in for 5 weeks because a job that's take 6 months finally came good with an 80% raise.

While I was agonising, Mrs. C looked at me sternly and said 'What do you always tell your teams? Love your job, don't love your company' And she was right. Despite they fact they wrote the contract they were terribly offended that I only gave them a week's notice....

Nowhere
I've been drinking far too much since last march so I've stopped completely .

For the first time in years I slept 7 hours without getting up for a pee last night.

Nice one Paul, along with cars, drinking is their next best time so knew they would appreciate your efforts.

I have a man shed at the bottom of the Garden, pool table - and sofa etc, did have a juke box and pinball but they became unreliable so I got rid.
Nothing of the scale and quality of what you have built and does not have a bar, but we go down a couple of evenings a week to shoot some pool and get away from the TV.
