When should hibernation end?

Just taxed mine. But I didn't SORN it, which was daft, 'cos it's barely been used all winter. I could have saved a couple of hundred quid easily.

About to tax both the Turbo and the Gransport today. £320 tax for a late GS? Or is that 6 months. Mine is £555 for 12 months.

I must be of an age, but I now think you come from Essex and have an Escort RS Turbo in white with fluffy dice in the mirror.

I never SORN mine but obviously do you it less over the winter. I had the whole underside properly cleaned and protected (cost about £800!) so that I can use it without fear of salt. I also keep the bike roadworthy through winter as well, it's easy to hose down the salt and grime from if needs be.

Only SORN my cars when they are in the workshop for extended periods. SZ 12 months, Q4 currently 40 months

No. I have a Porsche Turbo with furry dice and a windscreen top shade that reads Gaz on the drivets side and Shaz on the passenger side. And Shaz adorns the headlights with big plastic eyelashes from a VW Beetle.

Cayenne then;)

There used to be a guy I’d see regularly in the paddock at Silverstone with a Guards Red 930 and the reg plate TUR 80. Don’t really like personalised plates but thought that was very cool.

I think leaving these cars months on end in a garage causes more problems than giving them a blast every few weeks when there's a dry sunny day. I just love driving it and the thought of it sat there doing nothing on a nice day breaks my heart.
Pick your days and enjoy them through the winter. A tiny bit of salt at the edges of the road Is not going to destroy your car. Standing idle for months on end will.

Totally agree. Mine 4200 was regularly exercised, even if it was a rainy trip to work. I'd rather have a 92k well maintained car than a 32k garage Queen with maintenance done on mileage

Indeed, each to there own, lots of differing opinions and we all have differing reasons as to amount of driving we do in these cars, did just over 2k in mine last year which I think is the most it’s done in between mot’s, but luckily where it’s stored is not damp and the guys start it and move it in and out for me. Certainly not destroying it.
Anyway, hopefully hibernation ends today...

Well I just went out for a long drive in my very pampered 4200 and it was rather epic!
