When should hibernation end?

It's the first time I've put a car away for winter.
When do people generally bring them out? March or April?
I know this recent good weather has put us into a false sense of security.

It's all about the amount of salt and grit on the road... long nights means it is still close to 0 at night for most of the country so the gritters will still be hitting the roads for a few more weeks. Depends on how mild March is but by the start of April it is good to hit the road again. 21/03 is the Spring solstice and the days will be noticeably longer

I would still be careful at the start of April/end of March for big rocks left behind by the gritters at the edge of the road and around cats eyes in between lanes, my company car has had a new windscreen this year after a rock cracked it on the A3... followed by 3 huge stone chips which were repaired. Seems as though the gritters are using some pretty course gravel in the mix this winter.

What 50 said.

It was a cracking day today and i wouldn't expect to see any detritus on the roads other than the usual loose stones. However i think the weather will turn for the worse before spring has finally sprung.

I had the roof down on the GC-MC yesterday on may way to Emblem - glorious. I hadn't intended to use it until April, but given the bone dry roads and clear blue skies, why not?

April 1st is when I'm looking to be back in the QP, but that's more to save taxing two cars when I only use one... if it wasn't going for a service in a couple of weeks, I'd have back now!

Had mine out at the weekend with the Yorkshire Supercar lot going to McLaren Leeds and then a run through the tunnels on the way home. Many lovely cars including a yellow 812 Superfast and two F12s.

Roads here in the mornings are really greasy, plenty of road grime and probably remnants of salt despite gritters not being out for maybe a couple of weeks now.

That said, mine will make it's 2019 debut tomorrow as my daily is in the garage for tyre swaps. It's only on commuting duties though, nothing major.

There's still lots salt on the roads... the old 3200GT makes it first appearance of the season on the first of May!

I’m off SORN tomorrow, apart from the speed humps roads are quite good round here. I’ll be taking the GS round Goodwood end of March.

Taxed mine in October 2017 and drove it 5 times between then and March 2018. Was going to SORN it this winter but was talked by the wife into winter tyres and I’ve used it almost daily since December.

Had mine out last two weekends but will cabin up again if snow does actually come, that or they salt the roads in prep.

But she’s stirring

Had mine out last weekend to blow away the winter cobwebs.. But unfortunately it will most likely stay in the lock up now until we get another weekend like the one just gone.

Although compared to a lot of the classics on here my car is to many a humble daily use car. I keep my Ghibli garaged over the winter, and in fact it’s not used a great deal generally. Bur given the recent warm spell I too found an excuse to use it for a hundred mile round trip the other day.
