As ever, rule of thumb is buy the best/youngest you can afford, pays off in every length of term!!!

It finally went for £8800 today. Not a great deal but that's life!

Now, where's that 4200..?

Congratulations Brendan. Hopefully you'll make some of the shortfall back on the 4200 with a bit of haggling. The inspection should point out any areas to negotiate on. Have you got your eye on anything yet?

Not a huge numer out there really...only ever 20-30 available, and you discount 2/3s of those at first glance!

High miles, dodgy interior but late model good price

These ones have caught my eye. Have not enquired any further yet. All have

The last one is the face-lift model, which I think will hold it's value better in the long run. The seat cushions can easily be changed to red, which would improve it. Agree on the miles, but if well looked after with all stamps in place it could be a a good prospect?

My advice would be to hold out for a face-lift car if you can.

100% agree with Miles....Face lift is the way to go...It has a few upgrades that makes it more desirable on the used market and makes it a better drive than an early car..That car looks good value even with the miles.
