Arnie, have you solved this issue in the end?
I am know facing the same issue and I am really irritated by the error message which is showing in front of my face. Furthermore, I have the feeling that at least one of the shocks is seized in sport mode, which is quite annoying when driving around in the village. What I have done so far: with some help from a friend (and a stethoscope) we tried to listen to both front actuators. These should turn (and therefore make a noise) after turning the key to ignitition but without starting the car. Strangely though, we couldn't hear any sound from both of them, so they are either both knackered or there is something else amiss. Question: could it be the vertical or horizontal sensor? Would a disfunctioning of one of these sensors result in the error light? Second question: can a suspension error be read and interpreted by a SD3 tester on a 2001 MY 3200? Pointers where to start looking would be highly appreciated!
Thanks,
Danny
Emblem are still doing their Saturday Inspections for free...just had mine done which was two and a half hours and info on any fault codes...mine had none.
Trouble with the 3200 (sorry guys ) is that there are always a few possibilities that can cause similar problems best to know what one is doing where as the 4200 being N/a seems easier to diagnose

To be honest, I was pessimistic as well but actually I have made some good progress.
Last friday I paid a visit to the official Ferrari/Maserati dealer since my Indie does not have the SD2 or SD3 tester. First, the mechanic tried to connect to the Bilstein ECU via SD3 (which can simulate SD2, which is needed for the Maserati 3200). This didn't work. We could get into the central ECU but not in any of the various other ECU's.
Then the mechanic said that he had some success in the past with the (Ferrari only) SD1 tester. So, we hooked up the SD1 and we got into the Bilstein ECU immediately! First surprise for me was that this Bilstein ECU apparantly has a memory, since we saw several error codes which were stored. Second suprise was that there is a function in SD1 which can be used to calibrate each actuator separately. I asked the mechanic if I could make a picture of it, and this is how it looks like:
We cleared all error codes and recalibrated all 4 actuators and the error light in the dash had disappeared...
...only to come back again as soon as I arrived at home.....bugger. Tbh, I think that one of my front shocks is shot, so I will have to find a solution for that.
I will try to do another read-out with SD1 soon but the big news -as far as I'm concerned- is that the 3200 suspension can be diagnosed quite precisely after all, so one reason less for 3200 bashing by 4200 owners.
Im quite sure that the actuators and shocks are same system like the F456 and F355.
I owned a F355 wit a shock leak and sent the pair to this, men who changed the seals, the gaz and the oil for less than 400 eu the pair a few years ago.
He know the 3200 too.
