I’ve had that since I was 18 and I’m in my early 60’s now! If you look closely at it you’ll see where I had to repair the lid hinge with a screw (never keep one of these in the salty environment of a boat!). Making coffee with this has become quite a ritual over the years.
This is what I have been told in Italia, the older is caffettiara, the better the coffee

Fellas this was fantastic and at $22 an absolute steal.
We’d put it well up there with the likes of La Crema which over here is about 50% more.

if you can find it, it’s worth a try!

From my local Co-Op because it is actually open at this time on a Sunday. Quite a good drop for £9.50 although it’s often cheaper, on special offer.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Dalmore. I think the sweet spot is the 15 though.

I was introduced to Dalmore by the sommelier at the Witchery in Edinburgh (great restaurant if you're in the vicinity by the way) who said that the 15 was far superior to even the really expensive whiskeys that Dalmore do.

He was Scotlands sommelier of the year the year before we visited so I will bow to his far superior knowledge. And agree with it.
On that basis I may pick one up next time I’m thru billund if on offer. Couldn’t ignore the the King Alex3 last time as it worked out about £105!
