Always nice to open a large format. I persuaded our local winery in France ‘Domaine Rotisserie’ to bottle some magnums, double-magnums and an Imperial of his flagship red for me ‘Cuvee des Darons’ when he bottles it in December. 100% Cabernet Franc aged for 2 years in new oak cask. Pretty small production and very delicious indeed.

Not for me. This makes 16.5 Euros a bottle of Côtes de Bordeaux, which is the least famous of the AOC Bordeaux terroirs. You can buy a Côtes de bordeaux in a 5l cubitainer for 8E/l (?). And if the wine is just ok you lose.
Good to know it was the sheer size of the bottle that caught my eye.
