What have you done to your Maserati today?

The QP IV is looking better and better with each passing year. That's the genius of Gandini.
To me it is the best looking of all six variants of the QP.
Yep … the design of the rear arches is quite something. It’d present as a rather normal looking uninteresting car if it wasn’t for that eye catching feature which pulls you in …

Two little odd jobs for me tonight.

The first was changing my analogue clock. I didn’t notice it was broken when I test drove the car as it was about 1030 in the morning and when I saw that the clock was at 1020 I just thought it was slow. I only realised it was broken when I drove it home the following week. I wasn’t overly upset until I saw the cost of a new one!

I also changed the petrol cap. It wasn’t broken but was a bit faded and the rubber strap had snapped. I know it’s a bit unnecessary but it annoyed me every time I filled up which as we all know it quite often with these cars.

Not today, but about a week ago.
Power squat in my QPV on the Bromley road in Chislehurst, Kent.
*********************************************************************
Now, just for a little context, The Bromley road in Chislehurst is not the sort of road we Maserati artists seek out. Its a fairly narrow congested urban road. But when you do finally see a gap, you pull out into it and join this awful slow moving peleton of traffic. The next junction was 50 yards away and the car in front turned off there. So did the one in front of that. So I had a gap in the traffic before me. Unheard of on the Bromley road. So I left the power on - the pulling out onto a busy road power. I was rewarded with a power squat. On a silly congested urban road.
What a wonderful car this Maserati is ! Makes even the most dire, uninteresting - avoid me if you can - road fun.
:)

Hood down went for benzina, car prep for car show at Glen isla on Sunday, will be good to have a nice long run.
Always hood down - unless it's raining or temp below around 8degC as supposedly that can damage back 'window'. - And thank you, you've reminded me I must put the ctek onto mine as he's sat motionless for the past 7 days :(

As mentioned in another thread there was a club in Kent called 'The Top Down Club' if you joined you had to keep your hood down no matter the weather!

Have fixed the clutch, changed washedfluid reservoir, changed front shock absorbers and springs and done a small test drive in my 1987 Biturbo Spyder 2,5 i…. + driven to my small workshop and back in my 550 Maranello :) Planning on getting my project car on the road before Christmas.

Nice. I’ve been looking for ones for a 2011 GT but all the ones I’ve found are for 2013 and up. I’ve seen a thread on here about modifying some to fit but has anyone seen any designed to fit a pre 2013 GT?

Clearly I haven't looked, but got mine here

I think they're pretty good. Month to arrive though.

The part did not change between launch and the end of production. But you will find none of them fit anyway.

The original lamp is a numberplate light from a VW Polo.

Literally watched paint dry for the Maser’s home.
It’s currently at McGrath. Lots of nice things there…

Driving the Spyder to Cheam to wrestle granddaughters for a few days and the Wee Woman said “I miss the Alfa.” I said, what? The GTV? “No, the Alfa 33, I really liked that engine noise.”

So I am now on the hunt for an Alfa boxer engined car if anyone knows of a decent one.
