Hi All,

As many of you may have noticed I've become mildly addicted to the notion of getting my first Maser and, as my fiancee has noticed, I've consequently got addicted to this forum largely thanks to the kind souls who answer my many many questions - thanks to all of you.

On a number of occassions people have mentioned what they do day-to-day/for a living and it's something that always interests me. I think that's largely because I went down a very conservative route (Law degree, law school, now a solicitor (a junior one!) in the City). I also have a National Lottery direct debit set up...no joke!

I've seen these threads on other forums and it can end up becoming consistent one-upmanship. I'm keen to avoid that. I've also seen these threads be very interesting and at time almost inspiring! Hopefully this thread will be the latter.

Cheers
R

Aha! I may ask (bother) you for a bit of advice regarding a ground floor extension. We were thinking of using SIPs. Do you run a company that makes them?

Me, an extremely interesting accountant.

Do you work in Folkestone or commute in to London? I ask as i've often wondered about being a solicitor outside of the City later in life.

Not into one-upmanship, but here you go:

I am a graphic designer and am director of Perception Web Design Ltd and Proprietor of Perception Graphics LLP.

The later being the company that owns and runs SportsMaserati.com but I guess you knew that already.

Web design is my primary business, I don't do the programming, I leave that to the web monkeys I employ, I basically design and market the sites and leave the tecky stuff well alone.

I also have a couple of properties that I own and rent and am just about to buy some offices, one to work from, one to rent, and once they are paid off, I am going to retire and the plan is to live here and in mid France and spend more time on cars and building the forum, well thats the plan anyway.

I have just got to the stage in life where I want to start taking my foot off the gas, or more so, have an idea when I can do it.

I fly commercial airliners to holiday destinations near and far. Not very glamorous, just an office with a nice view. I'm off to Cancun tomorrow, back on Monday, which is a long way to go for a beer.

Dentist, I am alright really

This is something I wanted to do for a long time, but to be honest I chickened out after I saw someone with particularly bad teeth! I must say it seems a really good career in terms of work vs life balance. But then again, I'm not a dentist so i could be completely wrong!

And you've got a Red Maser. I want a red Maser and I want to fly helicopters. Tell me you view if you would not mind - the small private helicopters, are they inherently unsafe? Or are they flown by theose without enough ability/experience?

Well it is glamourous really. Well certainly more glamourous than my job.

You, and a few others, come accross as people who enjoy their jobs ... a rare breed!
