What do you think of the new Granturismo look ?

Assuming that’s a true representation, I’m not loving the front. The vertical light stack doesn’t look as classic as the more horizontal/diagonal old GT, but it does match the MC20 new family look

I’m not a big fan either, prefer the previous generation. Looks a bit like a cross between a Jaguar F type and a Nissan GTR. I think it’s the headlights, like on the Grecale which spoil it…

Definitely some GTR in there! Ride height and wheel arch relationship much more modern than the old GTs lofty set up however which many will like

I am surprised by just how similar it looks overall. No mistaking it is a Granturismo which is a good thing overall and should help keep relatively strong demand for the previous generation.

Fret not Maserati fans, it will be one thing if one thing only:

Drop dead gorgeous

From the looks of what I have seen we are getting a base design that does not stray far from the outgoing model but with the MC20 treatment.

From the general appearance I actually believe its going to be a modified chassis of the current GranTurismo. That said it looks good so far.

The general proportions and some of the hardpoints (i.e. filler cap location) appear to be the same as the old one. My guess is that its going to be like the new Nissan Z which is a heavily modified 370Z.

I love the lines of the current GranTurismo and this looks a lot like it so its ok by me. I expect they will tweak it a bit before we get to see it on the roads. Looking forward to it :)
Thanks for posting they spy photo.

Hmm.... looks F-type at the lights, California around the front grill... and well the rest took like the old GT with new rear cluster and bumper.

Evolution or has the money run out?

Will wait to see if it looks better when it's out of the wrapping paper.

Agree with comments so far. A bit 599 with the front lights, and other than that looks like a mild mid-term refresh of the previous GT. As the previous gen is so good looking, they have played safe and I would stick with the V8 in that version and save myself loads of £££££

From the fifth photo and from the overall shape of the side windows, I'd say that is a 2+2. you can see the rear headreasts but it looks cramped in the rear. It generally looks shorter than the current Ark Royal. Maybe 32/42/GS length. The nose looks thinner in side profile so probably has the V6TT engine from the MC20. So we're looking at ~550+Bhp. Call me biased but the Stradale/2013-2018 nose looks best on the current GT and that looks largely similar but I'm not a fan of the boxy end scoops, too Germanic.

I think the bonnet lifts forward too. There seems to be a panel gap on the side wing and there's no panel gap line where you would expect it to be on the front shot. So would give better access to the engine.

Be interesting to see the powertrain options. Will there be a classic V8 or are they solely interested in pursuing their electrification agenda and then only offer the same twin turbo V6 as the MC20?

Looks more like a face lift to me. Shape is the same as the old car which isn’t a bad thing I suppose. Front lights are very Jaguar F Type. There will be lots of bits that ar from the old car to disguise it I would think as the back lights shape is the same and silver strip is the same and surely all that will change. No boot lip kick up which maybe means a faster model will came after as before S…Look forward to the unveiling this year as this is another important car.
