Although when they did the touring car thing in German with the Mercedes cossie, the Sapphire cossie and the M3, I'm convinced German Stig was Sabine.

What's that saying? It's not over til the fat lady sings...
Looks like Ferrari are considering a protest, and the FIA will have until Friday 30 November to make a decision and resolve the situation one way or another.
If the protest was made and upheld, it could mean Vettel would have 20 seconds added to his total race time,
that would demote him to eighth place and make Alonso world champion by one point.

IMO, there is something fundamentally wrong with a sport when the championship is, potentially, won in the court room and not on the track. Why wasn't the penalty called by the stewards before the end of the race? Why does Ferrari have to protest before action is taken? It's all bollox and far too political for me, I'll stick to Moto GP.

I have to admit I thought Vettel would have had a penalty, he clearly overtook under a yellow flag, more than one yellow indicator in fact, I was very surprised he did not get a drive through. I'm with you Benny, I like sport to be clean and without all the politics, but rules are rules. I found it really weird when Ferrari bust a gearbox seal, just so that Alonso could change slots, how utterly bizarre and they were allowed by the rules to get away with that...???

Agree, we all saw the yellow flag and the powers that be in the teams and Bernies lot see same pictures as ourselves so it is very odd why it wasn't picked up on the day..........You can not take away the fact that Vettel has driven brilliantly over the last few rases, but he did need a penalty for the yellow flag bit.......Shame it's all happening now after the race and really does spoil what has been a great season.....

Well spotted on raceday Blox and AndyK. Seen the footage this morning and even if Red Bull claim they passed on Green, (which was further away than Pastor Maldanodo's Red Flag), it clearly shows he did not lift and was executing the move under a Yellow Flag.

Which lap was it though?

In days gone by it wasn't unheard of for the leading driver to take the No 2s car if required!

It was lap 4. Apparently, the FIA claim it shows here that there is a marshall waving a green flag and therefore putting Vettel in the clear. I frankly can't see anyone waving anything, can you?

Actually, there is no case. This high quality video shows that there is a marshall waving a green flag.

As much as I wanted Alonso to be crowned world champion, there is no upside to Ferrari mounting a protest after the fact. It would leave a very bitter taste for everyone, especially after such a great season and a worthy final race.

Lets just look forward to another season as good as this year.
