Memories of a simpler time....

3336.jpg

Chupette 49. Sophie drove this from North London to Surrey to visit me just after the World Cup/Euro Cup when France knocked England out...She had a 4ft Tricolour stuck to the roof like those silly St George ones you see on escorts...How she was not picked up and thrown into the Thames is a wonder...still she has balls for a French bird.

Longest trip she ever did was Kelso to St Emillion in Boudauex and it would just about do 60mph

Coming back to Citroen's, I'm currently considering an auto C5 with the Hydraulic suspension. (Must be my age!). Anyway, of course I'd need to test drive one but the local dealership wouldn't let me because someone might want to buy the car and they don't want to put any miles on it!
I'm lost, do people buy cars without test driving them or maybe the dealers expect their punters to test drive another model.

Right, I'm now off to the Kia showroom next.

Was I the only student to have a 2CV on here?...still have one over in France

My sister had a 2CV4. It needed a new engine while on tour as a con rod had snapped and popped out the side.
It was last seen on the outskirts of Paris with a man of the streets sleeping in it.

Adam...one day, & sooner than you will care to realise, people will mock your first choice of transport...I still look back fondly at my old Fiesta 950 in brown and my Metro...first car is like first love...it never dies.

Your Panda will be the one in your heart in many years to come....I recall them 1st time around.

yeah your spot on there Pete.

Frank, the 2CV was revolutionary and was a clever invention, but surely not an all time great?

I'm sorry P I just don't see it. IMO they were built by peasants for peasants, Ok as a farm utility vehicle to take sheep and chickens to market but cr.p for anything else. At best, severely compromised and at worst downright dangerous. Anyone taking their kids to school in one should be done for child cruelty. To summarise; Horrible.

Benny, funny you should say that, someone in Nantwich takes their kids to school in a 2CV, it is white and green, feel sorry for the poor sods.

Now I'm depressed. Property prices will start to fall if that thing is seen in the area. I hope they come in from Crewe as property prices can't fall much further over there!
