Wet driver footwell + leaky windscreen washer bottle?

Some italian charm has displayed itself in my car.

The driver side footwell is wet a bit wet, not sodden. The air filter was replaced last year (I saw the old one and had photos) and they reported no huge issues with leaves etc.

I looked at the drain tube under the dash (as shown here: http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/222-Aircon-clean-out-pollen-filter) and it was clean and not blocked. I did the modification anyway.

But, the windscreen washer fluid is leaking. I wonder if the wet carpet and the leaking washer bottle are connected? The whole washer bottle gets empty pretty quickly.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Not sure how it could, unless it's dribbling through the pedal box.

Carpet up time, I fear.

BTW if you still want a Parrot, I can fit for you :D

Can't help too much with the wet footwell but out of curiosity how much water goes into the washer bottle? - mine is really slow to fill but takes quite a bit (about 4 litres I think), it overflows every couple of spoonfuls so a lot of patience is needed to do a complete fill up - it lasts quite a while once full - just a thought about why it may seem to empty very quickly?

Cherry :)

I have this thing about dirty windscreens, and most of my driving is in the dark so the lights get washed as well. It doesn't look like it uses that much, though.

You'll regret making that offer as I will definitely take you up on it during the summer!

There's a little blue filter in the filler neck. Put your fingers in the hole and pull the filter ou. You can now fill it up quickly. The filter can be easily pusched back in.

Turn your lights to half lights briefly before pulling the wash wipe.

FWIW on the GranTurismo, headlight washers do not work over 130kmh.

Problem is, I'm blind :) I did check the light washers and they really didn't seem to use that much. There may well be leaks somewhere.

I wonder if mine work at 130kmh :)

At 130kmh+ the covers on the 4200 fly off. That's why the GranTurismo has the feature it has. My 4200 came with four nice painted, head lamp washer covers in the boot - used three of them!

Hi Ross, do you mean the pollen filter was replaced? Did they check underneath and also the main fan and grill, which are the other side under the skuttle panel?

Where is your washer bottle leaking from? The piping does run near by the pollen filter, but this should be sealed by the metal plate above it. Might be worth lifting the skuttle panel and taking a look.

Have you had your aircon re-gassed? I get mine done at each service.
