Something I've never worked out in football is what happens when it goes to penalties, a team has had a player sent off, and all players score? If it was 11 v 11 they start again, but in 11 v 10 does the team with 10 forfeit the game as they do not have the 11th player? They cannot start with their first choice of penalty taker as he would be competing against the 11th choice taker.
I'm not sure if this situation has ever occurred.

It hasn’t but it is what you say.

Didn’t help Sweden anyway. My lad isn’t a happy bunny even though England would have probably stuffed them with a 1-0 win....

They did, as did Stalin during the Holodomor in a Churchill Great Hunger stylee copy-cat genocide...

They aren’t playing Russia though. I’ve no idea about Ukraine-Germany relations? It was a genuine question. I’ve always assumed the Germany England football rivalry was seated in WW1/WW2.

Ukrainians welcomed the German invasion WW2 thinking no more Stalin but then realised Hitler was an even bigger b4astard and wanted to go back...

Some did. But then so did some Poles, French, Dutch and even Brits.

Doesn’t answer the question on current Ukr Ger relations?

Based on conversations I've had with Poles, Spaniards, Dutch, French, and Slovenians this week.

Everyone in Europe hates the Germans. Why should the Ukrainians be any different?

I think the only ones who do like them are the Austrians and Swiss. And they might as well be part of Germany anyway!

What disgusts me with football is the constant spitting

I've got no real interest in football , I only watch the international tournaments but it seems every close up is just them spitting on the pitch

You didn't see this in the 70s and 80s , the argument is it's because they're running

They just substituted Kane, his replacement ran 20ft then spat on the pitch , so is it 20ft then spit , maybe that's why you don't see sliding tackles much these days , nobody wants to slide through a river of gob

They're playing really well , I think this is the best team we've had in a long time.

Woooohoooo! Who’d a thought it?!

Loved how the commentary went, over the course of the match, from "Oh, well, the team is not much good and Southgate is a fool, but we might somehow survive this match." to "I've always thought this was a great England squad, well led by that nice Mr Southgate, and we could go all the way!!!"

On that form they could beat anyone, but one swallow doesn't a summer make as my old gran would say, so they need to pay like that on two more occasions
