I too had an E39 and would say that its a better car than the E46. Its an icon, but loves a drink.

If i was buying a sub 12k M car it would be an M5.....
They kept a good rep unlike the M3 and can get a good one for 8k....

Whilst looking at M5s, it seems that the new shape M5s have dropped quite a bit in the last few months - a few high milers are on PH for 16k - maybe I should think about pushing the price a bit...humm...

Yep, drove both and enjoyed the E39 much more than the E60....E60 was quicker but E39 far more fun...

I think the power output on the E39 is still very impressive today let alone in 1998 when it first came out. 5.0 V8 N/A with 400 bhp.

Nasty wheels on that one..Not a fan of two pice wheels that are black... A chap has a 6 series with wheels like that to big and very drug dealer.

My Bro just (about 3 weeks ago) sold a 55 plate M5, GREAT spec, FBMWSH, something like 47k on it for less than £21k. Was serviced a couple of days before and had just had a full set of brand new tyres on - it neede for nothing! Thats an awful lot of car for the money.
