Wow - he must have cash to burn Dem! I'm happy driving yesterday's heros if it means I don't get hit too hard with depreciation and still get to drive a nice motor.

Its weird how a used M5 is 50k less than it was new and bout 4 years old but a GT is 50k, 20k less tgan what it is new......

Well I took the plunge at the weekend and bought the M3.

So far so good. I didn't really know what to expect, but I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised. It seems to handle very well and the power delivery is excellent - I would say it feels like a front engined 911. With isofix in the back, all the electric gizmos inside, well put together (no rattles) interior, raspy exhaust note and ~28mpg (long motorway drive) whats not to like about it? I still miss the GS, but have probably done more miles in the M3 this weekend that I would have done in a couple of months in the GS... It does seem to be the 'practical everyday coupe' which I was looking for and you can't argue at the price of these machines.

Congrats. Did you buy the silver one? If you have any, please post some pics up. They are certainly a great value car! Enjoy.

Yes it was the one which was advertised - lots of pics here:

Immaculate paintwork, interior is in very good condition and FBMWSH + whole stack of bills from BMW. Not sure about the slotted discs fitted - they seem to squeal (presumably pads) so may have to revert back to OEM discs/pads on the front (surely OEM BMW cross-drilled discs would be up to the job?) Otherwise completely original.
