Don't ask me about mortgages! Been nightmare last two goes.

Only advice I have is don't have one [emoji3]
Unfortunately just a bit short.....I guess some people take out bigger loans, Santander were really keen, they can obviously see my monthly income, but when I said contractor, working in Denmark, the guy folded like a used crisp packet..... if the vendors could wait 3-4 month I could probably do it cash, but they have all ready started renting their retirement flat.....

I'm a bit short as well by several hundred k!

Talking of mortgages look at this :-

-0.5% for a 10 year mortgage.... On an interest only mortgage you pay zero monthly payments and every month the amoount you owe gets reduced..... The main interest rate in Denmark is -0.65 so effectively they are still making money.
If this rolls out to Europe and wider economies things are getting very interesting.

Chuffin Nora....that looks interesting.

Anyone know a contractor mortgage broker??
Viewed property and I’ve had puppy dog eyes from wife all morning.
You could try these guys
I know your not an expat but you are working abroad and they may just be able to assist.
Ive used them, very smooth on both occasions. If they have lenders willing to help full expats, your half way house (pardon the pun) should be simpler!
Good luck

ps I've dealt with

So how do I borrow a shed load, sorry house load of cash I. Denmark and move it to Britain.

If can’t be that straightforward, but on the face of it seems simples - but only if you have loads of money already

Step 1 - Buy a property in Denmark for cash
Step 2 - take out a mortgage in Denmark for house improvements. Secure this on the property in Denmark
Step 3 - buy some gold (this step is optional and there to please Wattie! )
Step 4 - sell the gold in England and put the proceeds to whatever use you have for them...

To point out the blindingly obvious, if you buy a bargain Danish house, which they pay you for, and you sell it say 6 months later for a far higher value, then you have that excess cash to move anywhere.
