Rear tyres needed replacing 285/30/20

Vred from camskills were £251 plus delivery and fitting, rang dicklovett in swndon just on the off chance and they said they can supply and fit 2 rears for £505.

The Vreds are great tyres but when they are more expensive than the Pirelli Rossos that the car came with then im afraid there was only one choice.

Went straight down and got them fitted.

whilst i was there, they had some great metal in the showroom.

5 f40s yes that five F40's
2 599 GTOs
1 Banca Fuji Gran Cabrio
2 GTS'

Job done the Noor. Have you been happy with the Rossos to date? Tram-lining? Fun in the wet?

Unfortunatley Noor the larger odd sizes in the vreds to seem to be on the high price wise , i think its a volume thing , went to have my wheels re- balanced today as i seemed to lose a couple of weights on the way down to Le Mans and developed a vibration at 105-110, all good now the Guy at Just tyres was really quizzing me re the vreddies as they are now shifting higher volumes of them , mine still have 5 mm left after 7500 miles and fortunately the wear is still really even across the whole tread, so for me they have earned a big tick

Ive been really happy with the Rossos to date, i get a little tramlining on odd mways, but that probably due to the width of the tyres (285). They seem to be fine in the wet, saying that i dont really push them in the rain but when i do, i do switch the sport mode off.

Thanks

Loz, i agree must be an economies of scale thing.

Ive had the Vreds on the front before and i was really pleased with them, they performed remarkably well, especially for the price compared to the Pirellis.

Thanks

I made a mental note and promise to myself that day, that one day I will be in one...
who knows, may even be after the QP, but I'm having way too much fun in that at the mo...

Was it the one with black wheels (below)....I love the Scag to and find it far more appealing than any other car in the range...Apart from maybe the 599 GTO and they had two there. What colours...they do a lovely 1960's racing design for this car..

Yep there was that black one and another gunmetal grey one.

If im being picky then im not keen on the black wheels but ive no room to be picky!

To digress a little,I have had the experience of both the pirelli P zero Rosso and the Vredesteins ultrac sessanta and i would say that the Vred look good and perform reasonably but i felt the Pirelli were the better tyre for traction and handling and general performance.
With the vreds you just feel a little closer to the edge of control than with the pirelli which makes this edge a little bit wider and allows you to push a bit harder.
There is not a lot in it but for the money pirelli is the better tyre wet or dry.
