Vreds or Pirelli Rossos

Torenno Performance

To digress a little,I have had the experience of both the pirelli P zero Rosso and the Vredesteins ultrac sessanta and i would say that the Vred look good and perform reasonably but i felt the Pirelli were the better tyre for traction and handling and general performance.
With the vreds you just feel a little closer to the edge of control than with the pirelli which makes this edge a little bit wider and allows you to push a bit harder.
There is not a lot in it but for the money pirelli is the better tyre wet or dry.

Totally agree Adam. If the price between the 2 is the same or near enough then it has to be the Pirellis all the way.

Thanks for putting us back on track Adam

Have not run Vreds, so can't comment on those,
but am very happy with the way the Pirellis perform in both wet and dry,

Regards,

Enzo.

Didn't Loz say that Pirelli hadn't moved with the times and the young guns are actualy better these days.

May have done Andy,
But I believe that a firm like Pirelli also have a decent R&D budget and program to stay up-to date,
the tread pattern may not necessarily change that much, but I think the compounds and manufacturing techniques do.
Let's face it...they are going to be supplying F1 next year, right?

Are they..Could do with a bit of competition with Tyres...Will there be more than one supplier.

Avon do a lot in motorsport now but they don't have the same ring as Pirrelli and F1 is about your face fitting.

BTW, reason this has come about is because Bridgestone are pulling out at the end of this season...
Not sure if we get another 'one make' championship next year or if it will be multi supplier.

Multi is the way to go..Bit of competition.

Here's a little quiz for Friday night...

1) which tyre won the first GP of modern times...at Silverstone 1950.
2) which is the most successful F1 tyre company
3) which is the least successful F1 tyre company

No prizes...I'm all out of espresso!

Just caught this one , My take having driven on pirelli's and Vredsteins and michelin pilot sorts is , that on the pilot sports and the pirelli's i have had breakaway frequently and to be fair they were 1/4 worn when the vehicles were purchased , since having the Vreds on both the 4200 and the gransport now on 7500 miles and half worn still not had any breakaway unless i deliberately set out to have some fun , for me the proof is in the pudding , sunday drivers rarely push thier cars to the limit for real fun ,

what type of driver are you , a Harry Worth or a Mean Machine ticking timebomb :conf2:
