ULEZ is expanding

Was listening to a lackey of the Khan of Khan's* explaining why Classics are ULEZ compliant and a pug 106 wasn't. He explained it as classic cars are not driven that often and it was easier to import the DVLA ANPR register wholesale than pick out individual makes and models as compliant or not. So London will become a city of EVs, new cars, but shed loads of Classics. Might be worth investing in a Bora or Merak.

*Another Marco Polo reference (on Netflix-highly recommended)
I think he knows what he’s done is borderline on backfiring on him, urining off another group like classic car owners might be a step too far.

Like motorcyclists? WTF bikes don’t cause jams and tend to have tiny engines and always petrol.

If you generally want to clean up a place stop the traffic full stop not charge them a fee fand all them to carry on polluting, doing so would soon stop major cities revenue as people and business move elsewhere

Am sure it’s an urban myth but I love it all the same.

- buy cheap no compliant car
- insure it
- Register with DVLA in the name of the London Mayor at his home address
- “forget” to cancel the insurance

Drove as normal - fully insured and all ULEZ fines go to London Mayor :D

I see there's a shortage of cordless angle grinders now and Machine Mart will only sell you one if you prove what you're going to use it for :)

Steve Parrish did something similar to the traffic wardens in his local area. He bought a load of scrappers for cash, no questions asked. Registered them to the addresses of the local traffic wardens and then parked them in the most ridiculous places overnight and the following morning the wardens duly ticketed them repeatedly until they towed them away and sent fines to their owners...

I am thinking about upgrading my home camera security system and the word out on the net is that the ULEZ cameras are top grade units has anybody got the phone numbers of the lads nicking them if the price is right I might be interested in buying half a dozen I did look on flea bay hoping the lads would be selling them there but no luck my hunt continues .

I use the trains often here in France as a over 60 the prices are very good minimal cost for first class and choose your seat.
Never use the Metro cheap enough to take a Taxi as in Paris no meters it's fixed prices makes it the way to do it for me.
It's definitely not like that in London :D

Last time I went was 7 years ago ,we took our daughter to see matilda

My wife had a neurological illness , she took one look at the escalator at Euston, a mile long doing 90mph and said no so we got in a taxi

Euston to Earls Court , as we set off the only Englishman I spoke to in 3 days said this

I carnt go fru da centa of laaanndun, veres a demonstrashun on so I gotta go raaund

I translated that to my wife who's from the North West and we set off

I sat there looking at the meter as we crawled along thinking **** me

We arrived at our hotel , I could've flown to Paris for the £36 it cost

After that she had to put her big girl pants on and conquer her fear of escalators

No congestion charge here but it is one of the things they are considering in Dublin along with dropping every speed limit down one. 50 becomes 30, 80 becomes 50, 100 becomes 80 and motorways 120 becomes 100 (all kmh). That means the maximum speed in Ireland would be a heady 62mph, it takes long enough to get anywhere here as it is, few motorways and lots of older A & B road equivalents.

The only plus side the Irish love to talk and love red tape so it might take them sometime to sort it out

Or they could try fixing the pot holes!

450 SEL 6.9 for the win. LHD to wave at cyclists.
Same colour as the one I borrowed for a week, in which I did £180 in 180 miles and parts of the car ripped itself off due to rust at maximum revs (you’ll need to work that out yourself ;))
This one is much nicer…
