Birmingham has just set up a clean air zone. Looks like most cities are going that way. Smaller cites will (city centres) most likely shut down as you can drive elsewhere if needs be.

I’m just inside the expanded ULEZ, the South Circular is at the end of my road. My 17 year old banger is petrol and exempt, fortunately. There’s already some sort of ANPR camera that has been installed to catch drivers as soon as they get into the zone.

We are getting one here in Aberdeen!!! Aberdeen center already looks like on of those "after the gold rush" towns so this will probably kill what's left, but hey you will be able to walk down the main center Union street breath the fresh air, free of pollution, cars, people, shops, residents or any sign of life at all.

Leeds has ditched the idea (for the time being) but Bradford is still proposing to have one. However, theirs is only for commercial vehicles and taxis so private vehicles are exempt.

I did move, a year ago, outside South circular. Move again and sure enough will have the same problem soon after. It's a money grab a dishonest tax

It’s all about the money. There is absolutely no gain in air quality from any of these taxes. They take every opportunity to slow traffic in London and the more we sit going nowhere or moving at an inefficient snails pace the worse it gets.

In the late 60s/early 70s when I was a kid in London and use to catch a bus they would kick out plumes of diesel smoke as they were pulling away from the bus stop so it's great that sort of thing is in the pass but the green nazis are taking it to the other extreme. Say it's 'Saving the planet' and you can charge people what you like.
The green issues started out in good faith but unfortunately have now been abused by money making scams.

Jesus wasn’t aware of this, currently I can’t even go to my dentist which is 3 miles without paying for my daily drive. All my school friends have moved out of London now, so probably time to join them.
Am guessing they are so short of money there’s going to be more and more stealth taxes coming.
