The Alfaholics car was in Chepstow before the filming being detailed at the detailer Chris Harris uses. It’s just down the road from me and they always have some very interesting cars. Plus if you want a detail they are very highly regarded. 83241

Presenters aside the James Bond section was informative as well as entertaining. The Roma v Afla just shows how much the cost of labour truly is when projects go extreme. Wheeler Dealers never factor this in when they sell cars. Surprised that it wasn't hastily edited with a tribute to Sabine but, maybe later on in the series they'll do her a proper service.

I think the Roma is stunning and would have one in a heartbeat of funds allowed.
And the Alfa.

Can someone tell me the point of the electric 4x4 thing? What a waste of time and money.
Is it me or is it just an ego trip for the rich? "oh look how green we can be driving an electric 4x4 rally/race car in places where climate change has had a serious effect on".

Green my ar*e! lets see the carbon footprint of the car, and without all the green washing of offsetting its carbon footprint by planting 10,000 trees.

I cannot take Paddy McG seriously. He Shouldn’t be on TV, let alone Top Gear, unless he can pronounce Aston Martin properly. Astin! I ask you.....

It's a technology exercise, remember Mrs Benz took ten hours to do 66 miles.

To be fair to Paddy on the filming day I attended in August '20 out of the 3 presenters he was the most willing to acknowledge and interact with the audience. He walked through and said hello to a few people including my wife and I. He seems to be putting it on quite strong for the video'd bits - it is all so scripted that you can bet he has been told to act like that.

When the cameras stopped rolling the other two became totally introverted and acted like the audience were an inconvenience. Of course it makes sense with Paddys background in entertainment while Chris H is a motoring journalist and Flintof is an athlete

Was you at the show where it was staged outdoors besides the cars?

Agreed. However, I enjoyed it as always. If you don't treat it as a serious motoring programme and just entertainment its great. Bit like Chris Evans "Carfest" vs e.g. the Sliverstone Classic meet.

Great to see one of the "effects" Vanquishes from Die Another Day on there. I get mine looked after by Stratton near Norwich and they have the contract to store and maintain all the EON-owned cars, so I have seen many of those featured in the flesh in their storage facility and have driven the EON Vanquish KE02EWW ( "Kew" or "Q" - geddit) and the DB10. Picture is of me in the DB10 and the interior shot is of the stunt car's real instruments in the passenger footwell, as the ones on the dash (similar to those that appeared on the new DB11 and Vantage a couple of years later) were fake and didn't work.

Flintoff dressed as Jaws with his metal teeth was a laugh aloud moment for me, and as for the Alfaholics GTA.........pure automotive p.rn!

Saw Chris Harris today. Heard a very loud exhaust and looked around and it was Chris in his very yellow 911 coming out of the petrol Station in Chepstow stuffing his face with a Greggs.

Jenson Button is one of the drivers of these things in the race series, he was extolling the virtues of 'electric cars' in the trailer I saw, saying 'electric is the future' suddenly went off him then !

The Extreme E Odyssy car that Freddy drove was an interesting bit.

I found it interesting in particular because they plan for the Rally series is that Hydrogen cells will be used to recharge the cars between stages.

Begs the question if the future of E cars is going to be a hydrid vehicle where hyrogen cells are used to recharge the batteries on electric cars which would get round the charging infrastructure problem and solve the issue for houses where an off road charging point is not an option.

Im sure it more a problem of making the hydrogen charging cells to be small enough to fit in a car and produce enough power.

Yes, that was interesting and you make a good point.

One of the issues of hydrogen is its volatility, meaning that tanks for cars are expensive and bulky. But if you have a big fuel cell that charges it negates that and the need for big grid upgrades.

I liked the episode also. A mix of cars, stats, competition, humour, recognition and emotion.

I also like the current presenters, admittedly I was unsure how Flintoff and McGuiness would be, but whilst they aren’t hardcore petrol heads, they do appreciate vehicles and appear to be themselves. Harris however plays the stooge and looks most uncomfortable. He is by far the biggest petrol head of the three, but I would prefer him to be less “pantomime”.

Do you ever get that feeling that Sebastian Vettel has realised that he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone anymore.
He's got 4 World Championships, a worthwhile Aston Martin F1 drive, a fleet of cars and motorcycles back home that he likes to tinker with and the arrogance of competition is no longer (if it was there) a part of him.
A thoroughly nice chap. Or am I a million miles of and he's really a d1ck?

I really struggle with them. They will sit on the front wing of any car. Does my head in.

Freddie, at least, seems to have learned to drive.

enjoyed the emotional eddie kidd tribute on Sunday, must admit was welling up seeing him in that condition,

Looking at the jump it was never going to end well, there's no way they would let him do that jump today ,even I could see landing on the up slope the bike is going to hit very hard, sad seeing him like that though , especially as he's obviously still the same guy inside .
