Nope. Don't see it. Range Rover Sport does not look like a Cayenne, does not look like a Lexus. That's a bit like saying all 4 door saloons look the same because they broadly have the same three box shape. So a QP5 looks like a Rover 75..........

Looks fine for me in it's space. As I have said before I would prefer a Ghibli 4WD wagon just as I would prefer to buy an XF 4WD wagon instead of an F Pace but the market has changed and my tastes are no longer contemporary. I now accept that so I either need to buy one of these things or stop moaning about them. Let's face 15 years of complaining about the Cayenne, M Class, X5 etc is enough it's time to buy them or shut up!

I have owned various Discoveries for years as they suit rural living, families etc etc. None of these SUVs can replace it in my view but if you don't need the extra stuff that a LR offers then why not? Mrs BB needs a new car so I have suggested a Levante but it will probably be too expensive in that context and it's residuals might not take the mileage too well.

Overall, I'd like to see one in a darker colour as I don't do silver I am afraid.

The front end is ok as it look Like a Ghibli and I like that.

Can someone tell me where I have seen those rear lights before?

It definitely looks better than the test mules suggested. It does have bits of other cars mixed into the design but I think all new cars do tbh. I may have been tempted if I had a local dealer, as it is I'll stick with the Macan GTS I have on order.

Just showed Liz....She straight away said...Looks like a Lexus...........Ah well lets see what happens in the flesh and lets hope it sells so Maserati can make some of the great cars we all love.

I like it. Big SUVs are great to drive as a daily driver. Now we have one available with a bit of flair. What's not to like?

Times change, things move forwards. Range Rovers are boring now and on every corner, the Cayenne has matured into a fantastic machine, the Macan looks excellent, the new F-Pace looks great too, LR has co$$ed up the Disco Sport but kept faith with the full fat Disco well, Lexus have gone too sharp for most with their Tron style designs, the Koreans are making good quality cars that look nice in the main, and my favourite Volvo is churning out fantastic pieces of Scandanavian design with the XC60 and XC90 both ace cars.

These cars are everything most families will ever need as well as being easy to drive with the high up position and full of safety features.

Long live the SUV. They make all sorts of sense.

I can see the appeal. If Maserati have one in their armoury , and can make them money, fair play. I'm sure we would love them to just make stunning sportscars, but when everything is run by bean counters that won't happen. We ran a big ML55 AMG as a daily and agree with above, it was great, apart from the 14mpg bit! ;)

Ive never had an SUV before and I'm quite interested in getting one next. I have to say I didnt like the concept pics at all but I think this car looks stunning. If the deals are right and it drives well that could be my next car. I had been considering FPACE, Cayenne and Range Rover Sport but this is lovely, especially from the front.

I got my first one 6 months ago, just an Audi Q3. It's an entry level SUV and I must say it's very, very good for what it is, a daily waggon and Family away day explorer. Took it to France 4 up and coped with everything we threw at it. The media interface is a breeze, connects to my iPhone, makes calls, streams music, voice control, it just works in this role and this is where my problem with the Levante is. I am sure it's going to be a very capable everyday car and deal with everything you throw at it.

But that's not why I buy Maserati. I don't want to be the same as everyone else. I want to be the oddball, the non conformist. I want to drive it occasionally and I want to meet likeminded individuals and discuss the finer details. I want to point out the effort and equisit design on something as unimportant as a door handle, a tail light or a leather headlining.

I want people to stop and point and say "look, a Maserati"

I want the masses not to buy one as they don't want to throw their money into keeping it running.

Most importantly though I want a Maserati, and Alfa come to think of it, to be instantly noticeable as a Maserati and Alfa Romeo. You could line the Levante up with the rest, de badge it and it would just blend into the rest.

So, there you have it, and thank you Andy for the Strad pic so I know all is notquite lost yet.

So suppose I have just showed what a last century dinosaur I really am, and I will continue to embrace it!

Oh, and one last thought. Maserati played safe on the design in the past with the Bi Turbo, I'll let you all have a think about how well that went.
