This was parked in the Expo car park at the Le Mans classic...

vent (Medium).jpg

Interested in hearing what you think...

I guess they serve a purpose, and it looks nicely done...
but i'm in two minds about whether they suit the car...hmmmmm

Nasty & pointless IMHO. I'm not even keen on the V8 badges cluttering up the wings and they're standard fitment on some cars!

It looks like a nice installation but personally I don't think the extra vents add anything to the overall style. Not something that I'd ever contemplate for my car. Sometimes less is more.

I think that was an option on the end run of the 4200, was it not the Goodwood kit or something, I might be wrong.

Dont like it myself.

Is that Loz with his hands in his pockets in the door?

Thanks for all the replies so far...no need to do a poll on this one...room 101 it is!!

Now, next question is...does it de-value the car? any thoughts?

I would say probably not...but have to find the right buyer which makes it more difficult to sell

not sure about devalue but it looks too aftermarket like the owner has done it himself.

Part of the 'Vintage' kit which surprisingly was taken up by a lot of US buyers. Options included
Vents as seen
Chrome Finished 7 Spoke Alloys
Chrome finished exterior door handles
Brier Root wood finish to steering wheel, door cappings, manual gear knob.

Tasteful...I will let you decide

Have it on the option list in one of my brochures...It was not cheap either as I remember.

Love them on the QP, as they seem to have more breathing space on the wing, but on the coupe it all looks a bit cluttered with the badge, vent and indicator. One of those where you get used to the car looking a particular way and so when you see a variant (factory option or not) it takes some getting used to. Having not lived with the image for long, and not having seen one in the flesh, I'd have to say Noooo!!

Funny you should ask that P,
I had Maserati UK send me a copy of the specification sheet including options for my QP when I bought it...
You guessed it, I have the Walnut Briarwood interior trimming (only on the dash, not the steering wheel, door capping etc)...
It comes out as NOCE INTARSIATO on the sheet,
Regards,
Enzo.
