To Strad or not to Strad....

Oooh, I am liking that Italian stripe, hum, on a white Strad with the SM logo on the rear quarter. Never stripped any of my cars, might do for LM this year.

The stripe works very well on the Huracan - I followed that car into the meet and then ultimately ended up parking next to a dark green Performante with the same stripe and matt gold wheels. Simply stunning. In addition to mine, think there were two other GT's and one MC Cabrio. This was some of the cars departing, unfortunately capturing no Maseratis!

Pistonheads now has 3 Strads advertised at under £60k. Let's assume each could be bought from their dealers at £59k, inc retail preparation/servicing/warranty, it makes you wonder what they've paid for them in the first place and still been able to make a profit. With nothing nice on the horizon from Maserati, surely we are reaching the bottom of the curve on these?

No two 2 seaters and a 4 seater with 50k on the clock. All three seemed to have been for sale for an age now.

A few on here have moved across to Ferrari or Aston or Mclaren haven't they. Says it all. Maybe a Strad is not a step up enough from a GT S people are finding. Again a lack of a model from Maserati. The Alfieri not coming has done all of this. I'm sure many wow have stayed with the brand if an Alfieri would have gone into production 2-3years ago.

The Strad, in my eye, is beautiful, visually engaging and combines elegance with a raw, aggressive stance. What it isn't is adequately different from my ol' GTS. Yes, I know it handles better, is quicker, more Alcantara (big thumbs up there!) and so on, but fundamentally had I gone down the Strad route it would have felt very much like my old GTS. Which would have been wonderful, but from a personal perspective I wanted something different.

With 50k miles on them I would say they are priced correctly. With half that it would be priced at 5k more.

The 4 seater has 50k miles. One of 2 seaters has 15k miles, the other 40k miles. Given how long these are taking to sell, it appears to indicate that for a 2 seater to start with a 6 it has to have less than 10k miles, be a great spec and impeccable condition/history. But still, to swap (for example) from my 2011 GTS MC-Shift to a nice 2012 2-seat MC-Strad would cost me in the region of £25-30k. That's still a lot to have to pay for quite a small change.

The grey 2 seater with 15k is the one to buy, its a bargain and make the other 2 look overpriced.

They have held the grey one for too long so someone will benefit from their credit on that car ceasing.

Happy Easter Weekend all.

I'm planning to look at the grey one this weekend. Still not 100% convinced as would be potentially trading in my Gransport with circa 17K on it and unmarked.

Will let you know how I get on and hope to get the cup car out this summer.

Well they are there to make money first & foremost so aren't going to be doing anyone any favours I wouldn't have thought.

Better off selling the GS first for top money. Better off keeping the GS though aren't you?
