Garden has turned into a disaster zone.. Got some raised beds and seating area that are made of breeze block and rendered. The inside of the blocks are treated with waterproof tanking slurry, but there is no damp course (walls are only 1 or 2 blocks high. Its only been on 7 months but first frost and most of it has popped off (both on the bed part and the part with nothing behind the wall). Different people have done different jobs so they're each blaming the other (typical!).
I have given up with getting either to put anything right but this is my question..
Once I have removed the render and the blocks have dried.. if I painted with water proof acrylic and then tiled the walls (with 11mm porcelain tiles).. and as long as the job is done properly with no voids will they be frost resistant? i.e I am pretty sure the blocks will get wet again but will the blocks expand and pop the tiles.. or is the fact that no water can get between the blocks and the tiles mean that they will be ok?? Before and after pics
