Q: "Does it have any service history"
A: "being a ten year old car unfortunately it doesn't Im afraid."

So there you go .....10 year old cars dont need service history according to this garage....You learn something new everyday, cause it doesnt affect resale values either.
Friggin joke isnt it!

Shiny shiny. Bonnet fits better in the first pictures on the salvage site ;)
Might be a decent car still, can't see rear damage. The history is often easier to find that you think.
Would need to be better priced and long term keeper for someone. Does anyone else have engine that sounds like this? Off out to recode mine on iphone now for comparison.

Oh bless their little cotton socls, look at the foot of their web page:

http://www.cchautos.com/

If you navigate around the site you will find a few quirks and an awful lot of disclaimers such as this one from their eBay ad:

All our vehicles / salvage are sold with no guarantee, the mileage is disclaimed. The purchaser has been given every opportunity to inspect the vehicles / salvage to their satisfaction and are responsible for ensuring that it complies with all current road traffic acts before being used on the public highway.

They do at least state Cat C/D etc, although you sometimes have to read very carefully (as they advise) to find it.

I originally thought that they did not have to mention a thing...but Trading standards said to me It is the Law that any company selling a salvaged or cat listed car have to make the fact that it is an accident damaged car immediatly apparent to the buyer.(not hidden in text that goes on for pages and mentions it at the very end.) as this company is selling the car as a business and as it will be a distance sale then you will be protected by the sale of goods act 1979 and if it turned out to be a piece fo **** you could just reject it.
If a question is asked about the damages they cannot lie to you and say it was light panel damage when it was heavy frontal and replacement of everything at the front.
I know of at least one succesful case that Trading standards brought against a company for first not stating clearly that the car was a cat C,second then lying about the extent of damages, then lying about who in fact did the repaires, then refusing to refund a deposit.
they were fined a lot and forced to comply
Still best advice of all is to offer a low low price and keep it or just steer well clear as sometimes savings on the surface end up costing an arm and a leg in reality
