He's probably not far wrong. What do we all think the floors of our beloveds are?

Here's my opinion.

3200
Poor examples can be had for around the £6k mark, excellent examples for twice that and solid cars around £10k (not inc AC)

The cheaper cars will end up scrapped or parted out so £8-10k would appear to be average market value. The 3200 is an iconic car and I think they have reached their floor at £8k, or worst case, £5k would be the absolute floor. A good time to buy IMHO

4200, not really my area of knowledge. They will fill the gap between the 3200 and GS. Will there come a day when they are valued less than the 3200?

GS
The tricky one. 2 years ago when I sold mine for £29k I expected them to be about to drop a third of their value due to the amount of GT4.2's and S's forcing them down. Happily I was wrong. The GS is in my opinion, still the pick of the bunch right now. descend examples from around £24k upwards and I strongly believe the floor will be £18k but would not be surprised if it turns out to be £20k

Just my opinions of course.

I agree. This car is likely very very high mileage, perhaps 120,000 miles, because why would the seller like so many XXXXs deliberately leave the mileage out of the advert. Just so annoyingly typical on why do they do such stupid annoying blxxxxx xxxxx xxxx shxx fxxx xxxx......

I can't help it, it should not bother me but mileage data is VERY IMPORTANT and yet it is often left out. Confirms they (dealers/sellers) have something to hide. As always I'd stay well away.

Perhaps its a ex-D or ex-C accident category.... I discovered this on a couple of massers when looking around for a 3200. Just a waste of my time driving for hours when they had deliberately left out VERY IMPORTANT information and actual facts. And I went to see a car that was advertised as 46,000 miles and had a recent full latest service, one owner etc.... what a waxxxxer liar as it turned out to be 53,000 miles, was way due for a service and had 3 owners. Seller said he had no time to correct the 'tiny error' in his advert. Yeah right. I won't reveal which dealer this is/was. But I wasted several hours unnecessarily.

So back to this advert. Maybe its genuine, perhaps someone care to give them a call to confirm the mileage. As for accurate reading, maybe a photo on their iphone....

He doesn't mention the miles so would say it's high..Bu it.ut saying that its a 2005 car so an early one and 16/17 seems about right for a car with 50k plus on the clock so interested to see whats on

They'll continue to fall and I reckon in 18 months time, an 80000 mile car will be around £10000, big saloon cars of any marque depreciate.

Agree, all big engine cars that are low on MPG are taking a hit at the moment.......This will continue.....

Daft statement for a car trader to make - just makes it sound like anything he says will be made up to suit!

Tell him you'll buy it and that every six months you'll pay him the difference if it's increased in value, and conversely he can pay you the difference if it's gone down. Maybe use CAP valuation as the baseline. He should jump at this, given his confidence in its future value....

thsi guy is not a specialist car dealer. he is a bread & butter man. I think he is pitching this car at that market in the hope that he will raise some interest in some one who would'nt normally consider a car such as this.

I do like his statement " indoor showroom "..................1st thing I would look for when choosing a new car.
