Having driven all editions of the GT’s, the only real difference is noise from 4.2 to 4.7, then the stradale. Get the best looked after car your budget can find, as no GT is particularly fast.

I find comments like this hilarious. Sub 5 seconds to 60 IS fast.

OK it's not as quick as other offerings but what sort of idiot buys a car to win top trumps? The clue is in the name - it is a GT and an effing good one (exceptional if you want to transport more than 2 people).
According to handbook the QP5 4.2 DS 0-100kmh is 5.2 seconds, so by my reckoning 0-60mph assuming linear should be 5 secs, not bad at all for an old bus!

It’s all subjective, but the OP is coming from an M4 will not feel it is quick. I’m not saying they’re not special cars ...

Isn't there people on here that were in Ferraris and came back to Maserati? OP may be driving an M4 but he didn't say he wanted to switch because of the speed either way.

I am not sure whether speed is the key any longer. We cannot use what we have that often and it is enough for uk roads for sure. The presence of a Maserati, the sound and theatre is so much more along with being a spacious and comfortable cruiser.

If you want to blast around b roads then a gt is not going to be the best or that fun when it comes to squeezing down narrow lanes. Thats what 4 pot Twinsparks are for.

Hi everyone. I’m continuing on my hunt and you all are talking me into the Granturismo S! (https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009083457209) - especially after a conversation with my Insurance, they revealed no difference in insurance prices between S and GT! Thank you all, honestly!
My M4 is great - quickest car I’ve had... but when that Maserati drove past me the noise oozed soul and character (hence why I’m here).

I've got a feeling a good 400hp old school 3200 GT would nail the lot of you, Its a lot lighter too!

If the noise is important, you do need to check it against the range as there are 3 main types of system not including the Strads.

4.2
4.7
4.7 Sportpack or S
MC

all give a slightly different sound dependant on speed/sport button. And this brief explanation does not cover it all... and of course you can mess with the system to 'tune' the note further

Lots of speed camera's now have sound sensors fitted, any overly loud nonsense and your done, 3 points on your license even if you were not speeding!

Really? It's perfectly legal to drive a car that is unmodified, but loud 'out of the box', like a Granturismo.

Hi all - what do you think of this car?

It possibly needs brakes all around on checking the MOT history or they have been done.
No mention of corrosion but as already said inspect carefully.
There's a thread for subframes and some scary pictures.
