I like 70s’ chronograph watches , the Movado datron hs360 is a fave.
New the omega seamsaster planet ocean with the black and white dial I think is nice, Grand Seiko spring drive quality looks awesome for the money but residual Values could be an issue

I do! The one on the right is my first ever watch, a Timex boys model which Father Christmas brought for me when I was 7. Years later I realised that is probably why I like military dials so much, like the one on the left which is about the same size case at 30mm. That one is a very early chronograph or chronostop, a Helvetia from 1940.

Wow, that stoked a memory.
I’m sure that was my first watch too (right)......would it have been around 1974ish?

Just bought another Tudor, this time a Heritage Chrono. It's super nice and so well priced compared to it's big brother, Rolex. Based on the Monte Carlo from 1971 which uses the oyster case and various other Rolex parts.

96912

For those interested in something a bit more affordable, my good friend owns the Alsta watch company which he has resurrected after they went bust in the 1980s. There's a lot of history to the brand and he's making modern version of their classics. I have one of them (The Surf 'N' Ski) and they are really nice and super cool. If you are seriously interested, PM me and i'll put you in direct contact with the owner.

If that's a concern, how about a left handed crown? My friend's company does one which is aimed at motorcycle riders as it's easier to wind a watch with gloves on if the crown is on the left, as well it stops it digging into the wrist.

Am I completely missing the point of this?

For one - I don't find that any crowns dig into my wrist (even with a 46mm)

Two - the website says "Allows riders to track elapsed hours, minutes (just multiply by 5), and/or a second time zone when traveling." Who the f#ck can even can look at a watch when riding? Mine is obscured by by both my leathers and gloves.

They can if you're riding a motorbike hard, I find my Seasmaster does it a bit. But otherwise, none of these windy watches makes much sense, if it's sense you want, Casio is where to look. It's a much marketing spiel as Maserati and their passion for yatching nonsense.
