As my cat has been whining for the last hour and I am now up, I may as well comment.

The engine low friction coating was applied to all 4.7 engines from 2011 onwards.

Carbon ceramics, the brake issues with steels on the 4.7 has always been an issue. They are not man enough and warp.

As Zep points out, the Strads slam the gear from one gear to another without going into neutral position first hence the viscous nature.

DMS tuned Dan! GTS to a claimed 505hp from stock 440hp on my old GTS. We spent an afternoon doing rolling and standing starts and there was no difference.

If you want a Strad, buy one and don’t waste your time and money trying to mod something.

Right I’m off to kick that cat up the @rse!

If 490-500hp is easily achievable with just a remap then that makes me sure that Ferrari were deliberately holding back this car more than I thought they were. I also heard that the 4200/GS can reach 430hp with tune and exhaust work but have seen no confirmation.

Why didn’t the GT get the twin turbo V8 from the QP6? It would’ve made it more competitive especially later on.

Sales were pretty slow for the GT at the end and when the Twin Turbo came out......I would imagine it wasn't worth the cost for the small numbers that would sell probably. That would have been a nlooked quick car though.

Would have certainly put a new breath of life for the last 5 years of the car.

Well, even Maserati dealer does not know the difference between a Granturismo MC and MC Stradale...

or maybe the misrepresentation is deliberate...

.
Lots doing this, they know they’re doing it and it’s false representation. There’s not many today advertised incorrectly, but 6 the other week.

For me adding a turbo motor would have ruined the car just as BMW and others have with their performance versions. At least Porsche recognises the issue and has gone back to NA flat sixes for the Cayman/Boxster.

Was incredible last time I looked. Good to see it not so bad now. I think currently only two true Strads for sale today assuming the white 2-Seater actually exists and is for sale, the other being the black 4-Seater discussed on another thread.

The white two seater has been advertised without pause for 4 years. So no, I doubt it’s available, and surely not a car to buy as I’d doubt it’s had a service having not moved for 4 years.

Yep my understanding is the gearbox is a hardware difference as well as software. It’s the same gearbox that the f430 scud and 599 GTO got which provides 60ms shifts. like the 360 and normal 430 there are mappings to increase the shift speed but not to the extent of the “special edition” cars from Maserati and fezza at the time
