Chaps,
I see that I last posted over 3 years ago in March 2012.
About time I gave account of myself then.

2011 saw me lose my driving licence for rather extreme speeding and I hold my head in shame (Ha!) - but it was fun.
Took a break in 2012 after cancer diagnosis - surgery and a spell of doubt about keeping the car followed but thankfully:
here I am, and with my car.

I have the Rosso Bologna 4200 still and feel that whilst unable to add any technical stuff to the forum I do have 6 years of ownership under my belt. Have to say that nothing comes close to the experience of this car. Done a track day or so and driven some other nice cars but to me this is still THE ONE!
Bought in 2009 as a 'lifer' the aim is still the same, to have and to hold. - Looked after impeccably by Emblem here in Poole, the car remains still below 40K miles and looks amazing. Actually the car is with them now for the annual beautification and service. As I say I can add nothing technical as anything under the bonnet is a mystery - a beautiful mystery but a mystery nevertherless. I guess just sitting in the cockpit is reward enough; no-one makes great interiors any more do they? Ferrari excepted of course.

So the ramble could carry on but it's good to find old friends again and share this with you.
For the younger members, you have to keep the faith, enjoy your cars to the full; next year I draw my old age pension but you know, whatever age you may be, there is nothing like the experience of being able to say that you drive a M-A-S-E-R-A-T-I, say it slowly and let the letters roll of your tongue and savour the responses from your colleagues!
I loved say the word it in the 1950s and I love to say it still.

.... next year I draw my old age pension...

*old* age? Sounds like you drive like a young hooligan rather than a man willing to let age slow him down. Very good.

Anyway, hello Mark. A turbulent few years... hopefully they are now behind you and you can concentrate on enjoying the timeless joys of these wonderful cars. Post lots, and welcome back.

Welcome back to the fold Mark, I do remember you mentioning the slight 'overspeed' at the time...

Are you heading down to Poole Quay on Friday there will be a few there (possibly myself too)?

Hi Mark, I enjoyed reading your 'ramble'.

Life can certainly be a rollercoaster ride.

Welcome back and can we see a pic of your beast?

Hey Mark, yes I remember you, gosh has it been 3 years since we were discussing your right foot exploits!

SM is still the same old place, although the faces have changed but some of us oldies are still her knocking around.

Welcome back.

Nice to meet you Mark & welcome back, good to see that you have held on to your car for so long too - I hope you continue to enjoy as the years go by and keep an eye out for those pesky speed cameras

Welcome back and can we see a pic of your beast?

Go to 'Albums' - have placed some pix in there.
Odd that there were never many Rosso 4200s in the UK - several in the US and plenty of 3200s too.
The only reason for the colour is that I HAD TO HAVE one in this colour as my childhood has memories of the dark red 'Maserati' marque racing.

Jolly kind of you all to reply to an old man's ramblings.
I can almost remember how to do this forum business. I will try and get to the Quay and look for the Maserati people; I don't think my red 4200 will be there as it will be with Emblem still - quite a lot to do this year but worth keeping it in decent condition - I can't imagine what a rotten 4200 would look like but it would not be a pretty sight.
Have to say that it's very nice to recognise some old forum names; but good to be in touch with the new ones too.
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Welcome back from the short break..!! The older you get the more Brownie Points you will start to earn for all sorts of exploits, you are not alone, there are a few codgers on here still ( less of the old)..!!Now you can really start to behave disgracefully..!! Well done on kicking "C" in to touch..!!
Cheers
