Yes they had, mainly around the centre console,
The key with any rubber coated product is to ensure they are fully cleaned correctly before treatment.
the Carpro kit isn't a complete cure but does make a huge difference, then using Inner QD on a regular basis will keep them clean
I will give this Carpro kit a try on my slightly sticky dash, just ordering it now. Did you just use a micro cloth or?

OK, so back again guys,

As with most exterior details I start with the wheels off first, clean the inner arches, liners, suspension components, brake calipers and hubs ceramic coated in KKD REvolve (although sadly forgot to take any pics of that)
I had the car up on stands for a few days, wheels removed and fully refurbished in dark Gun Metal grey( it's actually a Tesla Colour). Once returned they went straight into my workshop for a coating.
Chosen product for this is the very well known KKD R Evolve., its probably one if the most durable coatings on the market, but should be applied with caution. If you get the application wrong then they'll need a full refurb again,
Fitted back on with new centre wheel caps, Trident crested Valve covers they look stunning.
99632

After they were fitted back on the H&R wheel spacers arrived.
99633

A quick once over with some kkd R Evolve, then down to Tyre Point for fitting, along with some new rear MSP4 s and alignment.
The spacers are 22mm front and rear, being almost the exact diameter of the wheels you'd hardly notice them.
99634

Whilst up on the lift I managed to grab some pics before fitting.
9963599636

Once fitted they've completely transformed the look of the car, all I need now is the rear lowering springs to complete the stance.
9963799638
Now installed
Just some new rear springs and the SM big brake just to fit in a few weeks time.... .

Thanks again for the continued interest, next up is the paint correction process

Hey Bebs,
Yes, get some small 1inch detail brushes to agitate the cleaner, then wipe down with a damp cloth, allow to dry then finish with Inner, you can apply this with an MF towel and wipe off, or use some Valet Pro application sponges.

Thanks, will give it a try. Mine are just starting to go a little sticky to the touch.
Looking good with the 22 mm spacers on, it’s surprising how much of a difference it makes.

Morning SM Gang.

Moving on with the detail, its paint correction.
Generally white paint masks a large amount of imperfections, wash induced marring/swirls and so on.
However, The Maserati white is a very soft/warm white compared to most making these imperfections more noticeable, sitting in the sunshine there was hardly any reflection or clarity in the paint, just a huge amount of visible marring, water spotting and so on esp noticeable on the raised edges and curves that make the GT so unique in its shape.

After a full decon wash, with Garage Therapy Decon shampoo diluted to 65ml / 425ml in a foam cannon to remove heavy contamination followed up with Labocosmetica Purifica 1/6 via Foam Cannon to remove heavy water mineral deposits especially noticeable on the chrome parts.
99655
99656

washed down again prior to using a clay bar to remove any remaining contamination prior to paint correction.
With all the emblems and badges removed I chose to go with a 2 stage process, using Angelwax regenerate cutting compound with a Lake country MF cutting pad to remove the deeper swirls and imperfections, followed up with Carpro essence and a soft lake country finishing pad to restore the cclarity of the paint, fitted new emblems and badges then finally finished off with Kamikaze Myabi coating.

Now the paintwork is finished after 3 days of PC we move onto fitting some discreet carbon fibre parts.

Thanks again for reading, I'll be back soon with more of the fitted pics and details.

Well yes your right.. you actually need approx 5 cutting pads, and 3/5 finishing pads too, as these can only be cleaned out a few time before they stop working correctly.
By the time you factor in all the cost it's indeed expensive, I generally charge around £1500/ £2000 per car for a full detail.

That surprises me not at all!

Good morning Chaps,

Moving on with the carbon fibre parts, the car came with a CF rear spoiler
99725

, so to carry that theme throughout I decided to add wing mirror caps, and handle covers.

Both these are available from Banshee motorsport along with a huge amount of other Carbon accessories, badges bolt kits etc.

The wing mirror caps are 2x2 weave, dry molded carbon, fitment is very good, simply add some Upol tigerseal to the inside of the covers, place onto the OEM mirror and tape into place while the adhesive cures.

99724

Next up the door handles, again very good fitment, these have a clip that sits over the inside of the oem handle, they still need to be bonded on but no need for any tape.

99726
99727

99728Once the adhesive has fully cured I added some Kamikaze Myabi coating for some added protection.
To add some final touches in Carbon I wrapped the chrome boot handle trim with Avery Dennison Black Carbon Vinly weave, it has the exact same pattern as the carbon parts and helps bring everything else into contrast.
9973099731

Finally the last touch of carbon is the interior door sills, I didn't like the OEM colour as it didn't match anything else on the car, so again decided to wrap these too.

99732

99733
99734

I had thought about cutting out the chrome embossed lettering to add that little extra touch, so I might look into that in the future, worst case I can always wrap again if I don't like it.

I've now ordered a retrimmed steering wheel with Dynamica inserts with a Tri colour central band and Gaitor to be trimmed in Dynamica too, this should add some extra feel of luxury to the feel and match the Dynamica roof lining.

Now the exterior is fully completed it's time to move onto the other mods

Thanks again for the continued interest and feedback, I'll come back when the remaining mods arrive.
