The good morning thread

Polestar, Andy. The thinking man's electrical vee-hickle. With your commute it makes sense. Just don't assume that any journey longer than your daily commute won't be a mammoth pain in the bollox. :) Just make sure it comes with a 'no children were involved in mining the rare materials required to make this car' guarantee.

Morning, all. Stuff, stuff, stuff and more stuff today. Including, I hope, fixing a small stone chip in the one part of my front bumper that doesn't have PPF. It'd be a right pock-marked, gnarly old *** were it not for the PPF.

No agree Adam… Been digging into all the reviews and it seems the one to go for if you don’t want a Tesla…and I don’t want the faceless deigned turd of a car no matter how good it is. I also really like the look of then Polestar and if I have one if will be the twin motoring so 0-60 at 4.6 isn’t too shabby. Do agree through for work spot on and although they say it’s a 300 range I bet they never do that as that depends if weather and all sorts…250 feels more like on motorway driving. Plus the other factor is we are getting chargers in work soon so another tick on running costs.

My mate had a 997.1 for years, apart from coil packs and a leaky plastic vapour seal in the door nothing went wrong. And he sold it for 2k more than he paid.

A mate at work uses his '55 plate 997 as his daily, he's had it for a couple of years and hasn't had any problems so far. It looks remarkably compact and bijou in the car park surrounded by vans and SUVs.

Made a spur-of-the-moment 911 purchase yesterday, sight unseen. So today will involve a retrospective HPI check, arranging a Post Purchase Inspection, and working out how to collect it.

Fingers crossed its not a stolen write-off with outstanding finance and a knackered engine!
Good news. HPI is all clear, it was MOT'd last month, and serviced just a few hundred miles ago. Should collect it next Wednesday, so fingers crossed it'll be a sunny day and I can have the roof down.
For the Porsche-knowledgeable/interested amongst you, it's a late (2008) 997.1 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, in Midnight Blue with a black hood, black interior, and red brake calipers.

A very good morning to all. Planting some new plants and a bit of grass cutting. My youngest Alex has a load of friends around to watch the FA Cup as he is a Chelsea fan and my eldest Dan is off to a Eurovision Song Contest party tonight and I will be picking him up at midnight. No wine today for me then …. Plus I struggle to stay awake pat 10 let only midnight.

Morning, all. Some bike then some chores then an afternoon on my own. A bit of work needs doing but other than that, looking forward to it :)

Have a good one, all

Good morning all. Back from our trip up the Rhine. Will be supervising the village coffee morning today - mostly little old ladies, so I should be able to break up any trouble.

Morning. Into work today to fix my own cars….I have one of those situations where all my cars are sick and I nearly looking at my daughters F500.

Strad, think the master cylinder is failing.

GTV, running bagofshite, fixed that one last night, plugs and a bit of water down the plug bores, sounds easy, nope, plenum off to do the rear bank. 6 new plugs, purrrrs again

100052

Brera Spider, gearbox bearings gone a month into ownership, Andy, I should have learnt after the Brera fiasco.

Opel GT, I got that all up together earlier in the year. That’s running nice

Renault 14…in bits in the garage, that’s a long job.

Enjoy your weekend people. Zep down for planning meeting of the Euro trip….just got to sort that and not start drinking first….tough one

Good morning, great lie in. This weekend, cutting grass and painting walls. Chelsea for the FA Cup. ...oh and French MotoGP at Le Mans... watching this one at home.

Morning all, looking good so garden furniture out and BBQ ready for a bit of breakkie, might pootle around doing a few garden jobs but otherwise just relax

A very good morning to all. Alex had Karting this afternoon but other than that a quiet morning.

Who would have though UK 2nd in Eurovision which really would have been first if Ukraine didn’t have the sympathy support vote as their song was bloody awful. But it was clear that when the public vote came in Eurovision was part of something much bigger than just the song last night and gave a message of support for Ukraine in these terrible times. This was clear to see and I’m sure has lifted spirits.
