Good Morning everyone, am I first in? I'll turn the lights on and put the kettle on....

Cheers. Black coffee, please

and does this cat need feeding?

Nah, I just did that.

Good morning all, round two of warehouse wage negotiation’s with the Union. Inflation is not our friend at the moment.

I feel you. Although I don't have unions. 20% of my staff think they deserve a promotion (and raise, obvs) and one of them thinks he would make a fabulous manager but wants to know what my plan for his career is.

That London today. Weather looks glorious. Have a good one, all

Morning all another grey day but the light is at the end of the tunnel as one 18 days until a big break in June.

We got the first annual pay rise in 3 years last week, I will try not to get over excited by 3% strangely the unions accepted it but given the nu per or retailers here who have closed during the pandemic (mainly UK brands) they might not have been in a strong position to bargain. However as the market for tech resources especially digital has gone mad I can see us getting a few more resignations over the next couple of months which we will no doubt then match salaries to hold on to he best we have. Fortunately I argued for a market rate check for my team earlier in the year and most got between 10 and 25% increase but sadly not I heh ho

Morning all, ended up having by far the most productive office day this year yesterday, with a long teams in the middle to boot! Hopefully it is a sign in on the mend a bit. Lots to do, starting with delivering the reports I wrote yesterday.

Have fun all…

Morning all, wfh this morning and then driving across to Oxford where I'll be spending the rest of the week. Does that city still hate cars?

Yes. Yes, it really does and is getting worse. There are a couple more "bus gates" in the city and they also have implemented a zero emission zone.

Morning all. Starting the day in the local tyre place getting 4 new tyres on the ML. Which is a pain in the ar5e as it should get replaced next month!

In other news something I’ve been working on for months looks like it’s coming to fruition next month with everything being signed off with a trip to London the day after I get back from holiday.
Exciting times ahead. Well. Until someone chucks a spanner in the works!

I tried something similar yesterday. Fab mobile mechanic crawling underneath the Jaaaaaaag pointed out the OSR was low, which was good since I wanted an excuse to put something better on.

So call F1
Never heard of Vredstein, sir! Firestone! Bridgestone. Oh whatever.
We'll order 4 Goodyear all seasons and call you if they don't come in for your appointment 4pm Monday
Rock up and 4pm Monday
Ahh yes, go and see if those Good Year Eagles are in will you. Front or rear sir
All four
Ah. He's only ordered two. And they're not here
Marvellous. And he ordered Eagles did he?
Yes sir
They aren't all season, are they?
Oh yes, you can use the in the rain as well as dry.....

Sooo off to Camskill. 4 Vredstein Quadtracs to be delivered tomorrow (we hope) and fitted by a mobile place for less than F1

Sad really, they have always been fab in the past.

Decent tyre places are becoming harder to find these days.

What are you up to in my shire?
Course at Oxford Uni for some CPD.
Just got here and it's "quite nice actually". No rocks or paint thrown and no cyclists hit so great success! Always up for a pint or point in the direction of some nice roads to explore!
