My 2 faves are 'The Business' lots of swearing but awesome film and then 'Layer Cake'
I hate swearing and drugs but these 2 films are full of them both but really worth watching if you haven't seen them.

Layer Cake is a brilliant film, it has a bit of a Guy Richie feel to it I think, but just a bit more serious.

Saw The Aeronauts this week , wouldn't recommend it , 90 minutes in a not very exciting balloon , well made and acted just not that great

Based on fact so you have to admire their bravery going up to 34,000 ft without oxygen or proper clothing

You are aware that it was mostly fiction?

The showgirl and the scientist bit yes , a balloon did get to that altitude but 2 brummies flying over Wolverhampton probably wasn't Hollywood enough

Apparently the director wanted Peter Wyngarde (Jason King) to play Eddie Temple but he was told mistakenly that Peter had died, so the part went to Michael Gambon instead. Cracking film.

Couldn't think of anybody else than Gambon for that role now. Also a bit of a long cameo role for a very young Tom Hardy!!...... He's done alright for himself ain't he??!!

I loved Tom Hardy's film 'Locke', 90 minutes in car with one man on the phone as his whole life falls apart over a series of conversations....

Midway

Oh dear

I don't know how they managed to do it but even the actors look like they're CGI from a computer game as well as the many ships and aircraft

But we did get 3 stories in one film
Pearl Harbour
Doolittle Raid
Midway

Surprisingly given how realistic modern special effects can be the original version is better, much better

must see "Le Mans 66" out this week, hope it doesn't disappoint
My home town of Bolton (did I mention that) is twinned with Le Mans, and back in the day we used have an annual 24 hour pedal car race in Moss Bank Park - it got pretty competitive with like spare cars, teams, and Le Mans starts!

love that, must of been a load of fun as well as being fairly competitive at the same time, shame it ended
