First car was a Singer 4AD coupe with the 2 litre OHC engine & alloy body. A mechanical disaster but it has been restored & now is regarded as a classic car. Then an MG Y saloon, kept that for over twenty years. Followed by an MG Midget,Mk. III also kept for thirty years & sold for very good money because it was a rarity, being original and low mileage. Lots of other cars followed, some good, others not so. Now I have a Royale RP31M Formula Ford,Lotus M100 Elan,Series 1 Lotus Elise and verde mexico 3200 GT,my 2000. Get to drive some pretty special cars when I service or repair them.

WRT Cars
I grew up in Wroughton where Dick Lovett started his car business, and always remember a Maserati Mistral parked in the yard. In nearby Swindon a hi-fi dealer had a series of sportscars, often Lotus, but the last one I remember was a brand new Alfa Montreal which I thought was just the biz. E-Types and anything Italian had my interest in those days. Post-teens I lusted after the 930 Turbo, Countach, Pantera, 3.0CSL, and an array of American muscle cars.

WRT Ladies
Well, a gentleman shouldn't really, but I also remember Sian A-J (I'm surprised that Eb goes that far back).

Ok... So I had a ridiculously vivid dream when I was a young... maybe 7 years old and I had a brand new white Lamborghini Diablo delivered to my family house and it was all mine. I remember waking up and running to down the front of my parents house to find nothing there lol. Guess that is when the obsession started

A huge amount of my childhood was spent visiting car showrooms with my old man... Probably the most amount of time I spent with him. I recall visiting the local BMW showroom one time with my dad and one of my buddies from school; they had a brand new BMW z3 m coupe on display... We spent ages poking around it I recall thinking even back then how much of a special motor that thing was!

My uncle's Mk 1 Golf GTI - black with red patterns on the black seats. He used to tear around Angelsey with my cousin, brother and me in the car. One stretch was always that "Can he hit the ton down that road?" He'd had it from new and sold it in 2004 with 150k on the clock for £5k. 2 years before I got my licence (I was a bit late getting behind the wheel).

My dad briefly had one of these, and I hated it at the time because I didn't like not having a door of my own to the seat:

Fell in love with the idea of one a few years later.

And then there was one of these that I really wanted:

And then the one that I was able to realise as my first car:

it was a 150hp low pressure turbo Design Edition, so it has Viggen wheels, silver trim where others would have black plastic, and the leather is all two-tone navy and black. Lottie doesn't drive at the moment and needs a bit of restoration, but I'm not getting rid of her.

Oh, I had one of those.....
She shägged that fat ugly Dutch stalker guy, hope for us all.....

God yes, forgot about that. Saw a programme on that one. He was a stalker wasn't he.

Love the 99 turbo. The torque steer and turbo lag were both part of the character. Everything left you standing at the traffic lights but you hurtled past them 150 yds down the road. I bought a 5 door turbo in 1979 (less than 150 made worldwide and 101 into UK). I still have it and I'm pretty sure it's the only original owner 5 door in the world - still not lots of money though.

An early 99 Turbo is high on my watch list, not sure I have ever seen a 5 door version

There were 100 special edition 5 doors in cardinal red and 1 black dealers special order (there may be one more black one kicking around). I don't know how many survive - probably single figures.
They were never produced for USA or Europe but I think about 40 went to Australia. They were essentially a 99 GLE with a turbo engine, Inca wheels and Bilsteins.
