Hi all - seems like some on here, I finally switched from German to Itilian - completely different in style and build quality - oh and fuel. still the GS gives me a bigger smile, just look at one

I wasn't sure were to post this so please move if needed...

I want to replace the multi CD changed on the GS for my PhatNoise which is compatible with the Becker Pro (most likely I'll need a new cable). Has anyone on here managed to have a PhatNoise installed ?

thank you for the welcome... Its a great site and I used it for info when looking for one, to be honest I couldn't afford the GS so was looking at 4200s, one day the brain was a sleep and the rest just happened.

Once I've detailed the car (normally takes me 2 days) I'll get some pics posted.

great car and I think mine has a history but has both good and bad... I am still trying to find out info from Maserati but seems most files are still owned by Ferrari who won't release them to Maserati due to the split

MP3 to CD

hi not having much luck with reseach on the phatnoise so have my fall back plan to use MP3 CDs which the manual seems to state the Becker units supports. now creating an MP3 CD I've done lots for my little run around and all work fine but even with hand full of MP3 I just can not get the unit to read them. I've tried various CDs all being 700 CD-Rs and various MP3 with different bit rate.

maybe I am missing something but this is wasting alot of CDs.. any suggestions ? :hammer2:

take it with an MC you have an ugraded unit, mines the Becker Traffic Pro ?

seems Sonic is nolonger around... however sort of working but still some tracks being ignored, I worked out I need to write in ISO 9660 only and I've knocked the MP3 bitrates down to 160kbit to manage to get some working but still some tracks get skipped ? as example unit displays "tack04 ignored"

I'm wondering if this is a MP3 conversion issue ? or the unit naff and needs upgrading ?

IMO, it's probably better to get some decent exhausts and listen to those instead.

My unit is the Infomatic, not sure about the tech stuff in your last sentence - beyond me

thanks for the feedback, sounds like we have the same unit.

I'm search for sonic to test this and see why this works fine for you, once I have worked this out I'll update this with an HOW-TO
