Just watched that San Sebastián programme with the kids - we went there last year in the QP and had a great time. Even the touristy restaurants on the docks were good and the Tapas places exceptional. I imagine there are probably even better places on the outskirts if you’ve got time to explore.
The Picos are unforgettable - we went in our ‘66 Elan twice, once chasing my brother’s R5T2 and followed usually 15 mins behind by my Dad’s E-Type. All pre-kids and all cars now gone to new owners and new adventures. I got up early one day and drove the dead end road up to Fuente De on my own with no luggage, roof down listening to Groove Armada. One of my top ten drives.
La Coruna has one of the best football stadia ever - it’s almost on the beach. Brilliant place. Ortiguera on the north west coast has special seafood. I loved the organic white wines - not what I usually go for, but the Godellos, Albariño et al are often very special. The red Mencias were lovely too. We stayed at Pazo do Souto in Carballo and had fantastic food all week.
Very envious of your road trip Phil. Have a great time.
